Honestly MT made the adjustments he needed to and rewarded the guys that deserved it. That's all you can ask of the coach. Kudos.

MT pleaseeee put Patches with Pleks and Bourque...even though Gionta had a great game, it's how it should be imo. Give Patches/Plek/Bourque 18-19min each, Gally/Eller/Gally 16-17min each, and Briere/DD/Gionta 13-14 min (WOW that's a small line).

Great game by Price as well.

And yeah, you have to give Gauthier credit for the Halak/Eller trade. That was a gutsy trade, and right now it looks absolutely brilliant.
actually, it's one of the few things JM did well. Started him slowly on the 4th line, even scratched at times, worked with him on the defensive side of the game...

lest not forget Eller was a rookie when he came in, FAR from the player he is today.

We can thank JM for the defensive beast we have now.

He's a two way beast, no thanks to JM.

Besides when Kostitsyn was on his wing with Moen he has never really had a chance to prove himself offensively. Last year he played with two excellent wingers in GallyX2, it's really no wonder he broke out.

Apparently JM is doing wonders defensively for the Penguins. I don't think he was a bad coach maybe more of a bad fit , considering the style we want to play.

I'm not completely sold on MT being out of the woods yet based on this one game.. I wanna see what he does when Patches comes back healthy. If the "you get what you earn" allocation of ice time continues the way it is, I'll be happy. If DD-Briere-Patches suck up all the PP time and offensive starts despite how terrible they might be playing, it'll just prove that this game was a flash in the pan for MT.

That being said:

- Eller. Wow. All I can say really. Some people on here during the off-season questioning this guy's offensive potential... how?

- Galchenyuk: Didn't score tonight but that guy's vision... both of his assists just purely amazing passes. Him and Gallagher have some awesome chemistry, and that's great news for the Habs considering they'll be playing together for what looks like years to come.

- PK playing 28 minutes... about fricking time MT. This should be a daily occurrence, especially with our D this year.

- Carey played solid tonight, and when he does that we usually have a good chance to win.

- DD, Briere, and the PP all have to get better. Hopefully they (collectively) all have a good road trip.

I don't know... AK and him had mean mean mean chemistry. They didn't have much ice time but they were good offensively.

I like what Therrien said after the game.It shows that he's had a plan all along about how to distribute minutes, and it's not just a general hard-on for certain players (DD, Bouillon, etc)...

But those days appear over, and Therrien says minutes will now be given solely based on merit.

"That's [internal] competition," Therrien said. "It's pretty simple; you perform well you get ice time. You don't perform as well and your ice time goes down. And it's fair."

Guise, I missed the game (or rather the majority of it). How did DD and Brieur play?!

Both the weakest forwards again imo.

Bad reffing against both teams.

Way too many penalties and no rythm in the game...

The EGG line was great, I also liked what I saw from Plekanec and his linemates.

White, Moen did their jobs pretty well, Prust look like a guy that is playing hurt.

Let's say that Tinordi didn't have his best game and Bournival showed that he at least can keep the pace in the NHL.

I really don't like Markov-Diaz pairing I would much rather see Gorges or Tinordi playing with Markov.

Rene Bourque has got to be the most underrated player on the Habs. He hustles HARD every single shift... Always trying to make things happen. ****ing love him.
