Anybody else surprised that Reese still has a job?

I'm not a big fan of Barkan, but he did a fine job with this interview.

Watching Snider lie is always good viewing!

I wish he could be bought out, and no longer be the chairman!

No. Not Reese's fault. He made Brian Boucher and Michael Leighton look like all world goaltenders and there's been nothing wrong with Ray Emery and Steve Mason. Once the Flyers tighten things up defensively, people are going to rave about the goaltending. Jeff Reese has done a more than adequate job. It's not his fault that he was given a head case goaltender who wouldn't listen to what Reese was trying to tell him.

No. He hasn't had much to work with. Sadly, Biron was probably the best goalie we've had in the last 5 years and Reese coached him. You can't blame him for the Bryzaster. Coaching Leighton and Boucher is next to impossible.

From what I've read, Mason seems to really enjoy working with him and in the 9 games he's played here, he's looked very good. Reese has to be doing something right.

We'll see how long his tenure lasts once Hexy is the GM.

To oppose what Snider lied about during his latest interview, Holmgren's job is very much on thin ice!

It could be due to the timing but I sense they are more satisfied with that aspect of the team compared to other areas. Neil Little (more so) and Niitty are currently both employed as scouts. Little coached at Princeton.

I felt kinda meh when I saw they went with Berube...but I have been impressed with his interviews so far. He is saying all the right things, and I think the combo of him and Lappy could bring a lot of good to this group.

Working off the Twitter comment "Berube is fiery coach & he expects Flyers game to be intense..." citing Versteeg, it will be interesting to see how Berube one-ups Laviolette's Coke machine smash. Will the truck get it?

No, I mean it is hard to be a fan of Philly sports teams at the moment. The Flyers are underachieving, starting the season 0-3. The Eagles are in the process of rebuilding after 2 dreadful years. The Phillies are on the decline and that terrible GM doesn't look like he is getting axed anytime soon. The Sixers? Yeah, I don't follow basketball, so don't know to much except that they suck. It is hard to be a fan nowadays.

Does anybody have a link to the press conference from this morning? I'd like to see Snider blow a fuse.

Edit: I actually just found on if anybody else is interested in watching.

So @darrendreger just told us on TSN Radio that a Philly source openly wondered whether Luke Schenn can even play anymore. Hoo boy.
I am getting sick of this ****. This teams needs to get it's head out of their ass and wake the hell up. What the hell is this even?

What the hell? We're Leafs fan right, is Luke really a 1 eyed flamingo trying to play defense?

I was just coming here to post this. What the hell are they talking about? I'm not his biggest fan but they keep throwing their young guys under the bus.

So. . . he scores their only 5 on 5 goal all year and then makes a play almost every young NHL D-man has done at least once in their career and now all of a sudden he cannot play hockey?

I'm confused, what has he done that proves he is the worst player in the NHL?

That comment sounds bs to me, made up to get the Toronto fan base all happy. Dreger is a complete shill for Toronto as proven by his kadri commentary this summer. He is actually related to a front office person. Schenn was great last year and besides the turn over last game, fairly unremarkable this year, not career over.

I thought Schenn looked good the first 2 games? One bad turnover and he can't play hockey anymore?

If that's the case, then most of the starting roster can't play hockey anymore. Stupid people are stupid.

He's actually related to GM Dave Nonis. I'm really liking the trade for JVR as a leaf fan. I still don't think it was that great for you guys from the start.
