That said, you can make a reasonably compelling argument that of the owner, GM, and coach, he's the least culpable for the team's current predicament.
Good players were constantly brought in and Laviolette did nothing with a solid team the past few years. I can understand there's problems with the roster and that there have been since he was here, but for such a deep team, there's no reason they shouldn't have had more success.
I appreciate that his teams are fun to watch, at least when they're average or better overall. The 2010-2011 teams especially were a blast when they were going good. I remember fans of other teams posting here early in the 2011 season that they expected to see us in the finals. Good times.
Thanks Lavi! From the day he was hired until the end of 11-12 was probably the most continual fun I have had as a Flyers fan since Lindros left. (apart from 03-04!) Great hockey to watch and teams you could really put your heart and soul behind with no effort whatsoever.
4 very enjoyable years and realistically the last 3 were the best three years in a row in since 94-97... and two more nice shiny banners hanging from the rafters... though not the one we all wanted.
But his natural time here came to an end a year ago.
I appreciate that he destroyed a Coke machine; I prefer Pepsi.
The 2010 run is the highlight of my life as a Flyer fan and resulted in them playing on my birthday for the first time in franchise history, winning with me in attendance (Game 4 vs Chicago). The comeback against Boston, particularly game 7, will be my favourite Flyer moment until they win the Cup. Lavi was a big part of that.
I deride your truth handling abilities
