Belanger sounds like J.R. jr. (Sans the cursing - A little bit disappointing)

I'd be completely happy for the Kings to sign and trade Belanger.

I'm wondering if either of them will even be back...

Down the middle they already have:

Conroy
Armstrong
Lehoux
Pirnes

Pirnes is about 1/2 the cost of Belanger...I don't think Belanger will sign for the Minimum ($450-k) and Pirnes likely will...

Cammalleri will probably be pushed out onto a wing but he's been known to play center from time to time...

Avery can play in the middle as well...

I'm thinking Belanger is really a 3rd line center type and the Kings have a few other options at that spot...

Time for Luc to think about coaching...

**** Eric.....

"The thing I don't like in the whole process is that people are saying players are too greedy, blah, blah, blah," said Belanger, who is working out in Quebec. "That's what I've heard in Canada, and it's probably worse in the States"........

He lives in an area that boo's the US National Anthem, and has probably the biggest group of rude people in North America.

Agreed...I've never been a big fan of him...He is a little too wiry, and I personally feel he has glimpses of decent plays, but there is really nothing special about him...I would love to trade him and give Pirnes a chance...

Also, when the Kings had both Belanger and Mini-Me Blake, I was sad to see Blake go...I thought Belanger was more expendable..

I would rather have Belanger than Pirnes.

Is a Pirnes vs. Belanger poll an accurate thing though? Meaning that I was thinking of Pirnes more as the 4th line center and Belanger as a third...

Belanger is usually near the top in faceoff stats and he can score.

BTW, it's "Robitaille Eager to DON The Crown.......

I think the Robitaille farewell tour would be a wonderful way for the Kings to give back to hockey fans after this debacle. I also think that Luc should be a PP specialist and occasional reg shift player. Would he still be the second line left wing? I would push for say Kariya at that position. Any other lefties you would like to see in that second line position? Who else is available at present for a UFA leftie? Any good buyout possabilities?

I wonder if guys like Belanger an Roenick ever consider the kind of backlash they will receive from the fans for their outrageously idiotic comments.

"Hey I am so happy the game of hockey is back and by the way all the fans can just kiss my ***."

I personally don't care for players like these and would like to see him rot in the AHL.

Just my 2 cents.

Personally I think Trading Belanger or Pirnes is a mistake. Although in a New Salary Cap era Belanger's contract may never reach a Million a season unless he finally breaks through and shoots the puck and scores a couple more times.

Say NO to Slobitaille. He's going to be 40 in February.

He looked tired and haggard 18 months ago at 37 years of age. He's going to be 40, people!

With the game opening up, the Kings should replace him with a left wing who can skate, while also being better than a 40 year old Robitaille in other areas; maybe defensively and a power game for example, while being at least as good offensively as a 40 year old Luc.

Tired? He was our leading scorer. I truly believe, and hope that Luc comes back for a final season. He can't retire in anything other than a Kings uni.

yes he was, but at the tail end of the last season, he was not producing as much and looked like his age...

i think the kings are better off putting the money on palffy and a solid defenseman than luc...leave the new roster spot for the young guys like cammy and brown.

Agreed...Luc is a fan favorite, but people aren't going to pay money just to see him...If anything, he should be willing to take less just to retire as a King...Otherwise, let's give the kids a chance while also spending the money on other holes to fill....I don't think there will be much interest from other teams...
