Fitting...they just showed Rolston in locker room talking to players using a garbage can as a podium.

Sam Reinhart. Sam Bennett. William Nylander, Michael Del Colle... there will be someone coming out of all of this mess.

Hell, it could be "Break Bad for Ekblad" and I'd be fine with it.
Do we really want/need another D prospect?

Agreed. I wouldn't be so unhappy this year if they didn't have a number of prospects getting mauled at the NHL level who would be better served getting seasoning in the A.

I think Rolston is probably the right guy for the job, but after a few losing seasons, I'd lose it listening to his monotone droning after yet another 4-1 going into the 3rd game. (I wouldn't expect Vanek or Miller to want to either).

If their is no choice to throw 18/19 year olds into an NHL lineup then the GM should be canned

I don't see why Larsson and Girgensons cannot play in the American Hockey League, both look like decent players but they still need to work on their offensive games. I don't think sending Ristolainen down would be a huge mistake either.

Having watched plenty of his games in the last couple of years... I disagree. He put up very good offensive numbers, but there is so much more to the game and so much more he could do if pushed (internally or externally) to play every game, every shift. What Rolston is on him about here is the same thing he had in the Q -- he's a talented kid who's gotten by on natural talent and not had to work hard to be good enough. That **** doesn't work in the NHL.

Ekblad is better then anything on this team. On that note, trade the pick!

I love Ekblad. I highly doubt they would draft him given their current crop, but the kid is a fine, fine hockey player. This year and next are probably weighted toward forward. With how bad they are now and the likelihood of not having guys like Miller, Vanek, and other "vets" next year, McDavid has to be on the radar.

what motivates him there? I think he ends up floating.

Problem is..he can get away with that in the Q and be effective in doing so....(Just my guess) but it probably wouldn't motivate him to improve those areas... Failure is perhaps the best motivator in my opinion.

Playing at the AHL level would be more productive for a 1\3 of this team and not thrown into the deep end without a life jacket!

I wouldn't be opposed in trading the pick to be honest...unless there is a sure fire offensive weapon to be had.

There is a choice for most of these teens. Girgs could be in the AHL finding his offensive game, Rasmus good be in Rochester or Europe, and Grigs wasn't too good for the Q. He's just here because they're burning through his contract.

Let's not forget that the Amerks only have had one game and don't play again until tomorrow. Having the kids up and around the pro team has them near at hand and getting whatever exposure/seasoning they can.

With the IR list slimming, moves will be happening.

Myers could use a season or two there also.

I think that is why they went d heavy. Build for the future and wont win many games. Thus putting them in position to get McDavid,

I wonder if Rob was always thinking on the bench, "this shift I'm gonna get one".

I see Stamkos saved up his goals for tonight. Talking of potential talent gap, looking at the youngsters Tampa and Florida have should give savvy fans pause.

Again a between-the-legs shot?
