Take Gionta off the plek's line and its main objective, shutting down the opposition, becomes much tougher. If there are two players who really shouldn't be separated on this team, it's Pleks - Gionta.
You know, I like that duo also for the little things they do well. But I want more goals from them too. Or, if not from them, from another line.
Starting from the idea that they stay together, there aren't too many options at LW. I think it goes radically one way or the other. Put Pacioretty there and power it up to a 1st line. Or put Moen there and shutdown any chance of offence from the other team.
If you cast them as a shutdown line, then you keep Pacioretty and Bourque as scoring LWers, both with size and good skating. I think the logical consequence is that you shift Galchenyuk to centre. Now we're in business!
Move in Prust on the wings from time to time for some energy or defensive presence. Desharnais gets banished to the 4th line (and PP duty, as a specialist) or the pressbox, and you put together a 4th line committee of White, Prust, Bournival, Parros.
actually, his name is Therrien. but I see why you confuse the two.
Haha wow, mind fart! Well, I must say Therrien isn't impressing me this season, its probably the cause of my confusion

I can't really argue that with a guy using a Larry Robinson avatar. I mean really, we should clone some of these Habs legends in vats, have them practice in secret while they grow up then draft them in 18 years.
It's time to make Eller a healthy scratch. Got to keep him hungry. Double shift Desharnais with the Gallys.
I really miss the 'gotta keep 'em hungry' meme.

Yeah, I really don't like Prust playing exclusively on the 4th line. He's too good for it. You throw that third line out like a true exploitation line and try to catch the other coach sleeping. No defensive zone starts if it can be helped.
I don't get why people put Pust in our Top-6 Bournival is way better than Prust offensively, our problem is scoring goal and Bournival can't produce on a 4th line ...
Yeah, its so easy to know that with Bournival's zero points in one career game. Bournival is an energy player and will have to play his way up from the fourth line if he wants to play in the NHL. I don't know why people are struggling with this.
