As a fan of Illinois football in addition to the Bears, it is getting really old seeing football teams I root for give up ridiculous amounts of rushing yardage twice every weekend.

Well, here's hoping that Cutler's injury isn't as bad as Bradford's...

We still have the Tampa 2 D players while we aren't playing it any more.
+ Melton is hurt which really doesn't help us
+ Peppers decline was much fast than expecete
+ Tillman isn't at 100%

having a D that is known to either get scored on or score themself doesn't help that case. Will be fun offseason in turns of who we will get

Probably the worst game of Conte's career.

I would hope so. Can't imagine being much worse that that.

@AdamSchefter: Source texts that Bears LB Lance Briggs will be out 4-6 weeks with shoulder injury. No surgery necessary. Will be back this season.

#Bears allowing 29.4 points per game this year, 3rd-most in the NFL. In the previous 9 years, they allowed 19.2 ppg, 4th-fewest in the NFL.

At least Greene will get some experience , Hopefully

Constanzo if healthy might draw in (He is Briggs primary backup for some odd reason)

There's been some injuries - but when you see a debacle like yesterday, that's a lot more than injuries. Let's hope Mel Tucker isn't back next year.

They were without 4 starters (Briggs, Tillman, Melton (all pro bowlers last year) and DJ Williams) and 1 primary back up (Collins). Hard for me to blame the coordinator. He didn't tell Conte to fall down on what should have been an easy interception

This is one of the worst weeks I've ever seen as far as impactful injuries go. L. Hall, Cushing, Bradford, Cutler, Briggs, Finley, and Wayne all went down before the MNF game.

Per Twitter, Cutler out four weeks win a groin tear.

Brb, checking up on our upcoming schedule...

EDIT: Without Cutler, thinking that 1-2 is our best case scenario, and that's probably mildly underestimating the Ravens.

Every team plays with injuries. Yeah the Bears have a little more than most right now, but that's no excuse to look like a peewee team. Making an excuse for one play does nothing either...there were dozens of bad plays.

The offense will be fine without Cutler; it's not like we have Campbell in there. The D, however, is screwed. I don't know how they can overcome the D getting even worse than it already was.

4 weeks at best ,, Doubt we see that I think 6 weeks is more reasonable return for Cutty

bye
Packers
Lions
Ravens
Rams
Vikings

I see Bears 1-4 or 2-3 during that stretch sadly

McCown wont get luxury of playing Skins D ever week ,, Using anythign offensively from that game as postiive going forward is not realisitc

Skins D is only slightly better then Bears D

Eh , even if Cutler's out longer, Rams without Bradford or the Vikings as is don't exactly scare me.

Yes but problem is the next 2 games are very big for Bears especially dealing with tiebreakers

Lions already have one win vs Bears ,, Cant afford to lose both games and well Packers should destroy this team

The only good team the Packers have beaten are the Lions. They're not some super team.

Yeah, those will be key losses and make grabbing a wild card spot versus the Lions all the more difficult.

And the Titans' owner passed away this morning, apparently.

Yep

Wildcard #1 is going to go to NFC West runner up
Wildcard #2 is going to go to NFC North runner up

Problem for Bears is losses over next 2 games likely sink what little hope they had to try and capture playoff spot

As for Packers competition ,, It doesn't matter who they have faced because they are going to destroy this defense

Rodgers vs This unit

The Packers may not be a superteam, but they're probably the only team in the division with a snowball's chance in hell of winning the Super Bowl.

And sad news to hear about Bud Adams. Good for him making it to 90.

All mccown has to do is run an offense that relies on scheming to move the ball. He should do just fine. if we still had tice or martz, I'd say the season was already over.

That said, with this defense, the season is probably already over. There's just no way to hide both safeties when the d line isn't getting any pressure. Wouldn't be surprised if this was peppers' last year with the bears. Also, hope to god conte and wright are either backups or just flat out not on the team next year..
