Have you even turned on ESPN the last two days; it's all that is being talked about, interviews, round tables, the whole thing.

It's the cycles of society. With the cultural integration we're seeing with the younger generations comes a new outlook on how we live, how we talk to people, how we judge people. But it goes so far beyond that, what we consider right and wrong, what we consider legal or illegal. And it is far from the first time this has happened. People used to order drugs through the sears catalog. People used to resolve disputes with shootouts. Then a different time came where society was very conservative in all ways, in part because of the shock and downsides of past cultures. And then people got sick of that and rebelled back the other way. But right now, we are at a tipping point, media lynchings on the daily, without evidence or provocation. Political unrest, splits right down the middle on key issues. A convergence and division of society and culture at the same time, but one side has to win. To speak on this specific issue, the idea that black NFL players are seemingly universal on the fact that a white person can call a black person the n-word in the same way a black person can call a black person the n-word, well, that's just fantastic because it spells the end of racism. And it isn't just that, I just saw two black women on CNN absolutely blasting welfare because they think there are too many lazy people looking for the easy way out. That's the end of racism right there, the end of stereotypes, and we need to see more of it with respect to other cultures and religions as well, no doubt about that. But it's starting to happen and I'm pretty shocked it is happening right now, but it is just the beginning and there is a long way to go but people want to go there. Most importantly, the gods of our society, celebrities, want to go there. And that is just fantastic because so many others will follow them. Like Obama said, "Change". You want to sit in a corner and cry and find reasons to be upset at people, you'll never run out of targets. You want to say, you know what, I don't give a **** what other people think, what society thinks, this is what I think, well, you are a revolutionary. So congrats to the Miami Dolphins and NFL players for having the courage to speak their mind about this situation and tell us all the truth about it.

That's quite a string you carried on there

Well, that is far from the case here. Obviously every person has their own view, but I mostly see that people want the cultures to be integrated, the races to be integrated, and the hate to stop. Obviously there are also people who want separate but equal but that isn't the answer and it's not what society wants, all you have to do is look get out and see it for yourself. I believe someday there will not even be any races, it will be a complete mixture, genetically, culturally and spiritually. It's not an opinion I share with a lot of white people, but it is an opinion I share with a lot of minorities.

While I think that's a valid idea, it's quite a stretch to get to that from this bullying case.

Also keep in mind that one of the big themes behind this is that some of the black players on Miami didn't think that Martin was "black enough" to be one of them because of his upbringing.

Exactly. We're not near the end of segregation, we're just getting more divided. It's not just black and white, it's poor black, educated black, 1 %ers, etc etc...

I hadn't picked up on that, but if it is, then it is disappointing. What made Ritchie Incognito a brother to them and not Martin, where does race come in there.

I read some article the other day that said the Dolphins players viewed Incognito as an "honorary" black guy because of his poor upbringing or something, whereas Martin was viewed as white because he wasn't poor growing up and he went to Stanford.

Edit, found it

I got the vibe there were quite a few "honorary black guys", from the Chris Carter interview, the Outside the Lines episode yesterday, the numerous other NFL player interviews.

Marshall is on pace for 106 catches for 1294 yards and 12 tds
Jeffery is on pace for 76 catches for 1242 yards and 6 tds
Bennett is on pace for 72 catches for 784 yards and 8 tds
Forte is on pace for 80 catches for 632 yards and 0tds

Easily the best group of pass catchers the bears have had in my lifetime

Best I have seen too.

Probably the best since 1999...
Marcus Robinson 16GP(11 started), 84 REC, 1400 yards, 9 TDs
Bobby Engram 16GP(14 started), 88 REC, 947 yards, 4 TDs
Curtis Conway 9GP(8 started), 44 REC, 426 yards, 4 TDs(Pro-rated: 78 rec, 757 yards, 7 TDs)
Ryan Wetnight 16GP(4 started), 38 REC, 277 yards, 1 TD
Curtis Enis 15GP(12 started), 45 REC, 340 yards, 2 TDs
Marty Booker 9GP(4 started), 19 REC, 219 yards, 3 TDs(Pro-rated: 33 rec, 389 yards, 5 TDs)

A lot of talent. Booker was only 23 and a rookie though. And no TE like we have now with Bennett. Robinson was elite at that point...man I loved him that year.

I haven't see us with such great pass protection on that TD pass since like ever. He had all day to throw, was like watching the Patriots and Brady or something.
