Told it like it is..no sugar coated hype..Try new approaches, from a coaching standpoint.

He got his point across, in a very concise and non demeaning manner..

Just heard the Button rant.

Everything he said is true. Season is lost, time to play and experiment. Screw the original system, especially since it sucked, time to try something new.

What does "something new" look like, though? Honestly, what are some things you'd like to see Eakins try?

I wouldn't mind seeing some AHLers up, like with Marincin. Maybe give Klefbom a quick taste of the NHL whether he's earned it or not. Just so he knows where the bar is at (because if he's not getting close to NHL-ready by the season's end, I'm getting worried about one of our few blue-chippers.

I just had a eureka! Brian Burke knew he was going to get hired as early as last summer. He waited to take the jon and conspired with Eakins for the latter to come to the Oilers and completely ruin the team. Once he does the damage, he will get fired, and then go coach the Flames.

Doesnt really matter. What he is doing now clearly isnt working. He should be using the rest of the season to find something that does work, otherwise he should **** off.

That would be something, considering that neither Kreuger or Renney could find it.

I don't know where Kreuger went, but Renney is in a much better place than this graveyard.

The answer I was looking for was not here.

If Eakins wants to avoid going down as the coach with the worst record in franchise history, he better try something different.

Not humiliating/alienating players in the press would be a start.

Not likely, seeing what an arrogant jack hole he is.

I don't think they mean trying new things with players and call-ups..

I think they mean the system.

2-2-1 type thing. Umbrellas, diamonds, squares.. you know. EA Sports coaching option changes.

Seems to fit in with pretty much everyone else in this organization.

Eakins probably can't wait to get fired from this mess. Kreuger and Renney probably have drinks at a bar and share funny stories about botched 2-on-1s and the inability to backcheck.

Yep.

Pretty much what Button was pissed off about. Too many cliches and pep talk from Eakins that, as of right now, bring zero value to the development of our players.

I liked the part where he *****ed about Eakin's constant "go out play 60 mins hard" rants haha

They're only 2 points out of a playoff spot, and they still have a game against us left.

Still better than this place.

I would love to see some experimenting.

Mainly, having another guy coach.

Oh! And if they're feeling super experimental, maybe having new assistants! I know that's a lot to ask for, but yeah, that would be awesome.

I have posted this before and I will post this again. What cracks me up is Tom Renney to me had a plan and was part of the rebuild. His final year he finished with 74 points. And that was with essentially this same team but 2 yrs younger.

He was fired, and why? Because management assumed this team should have shown they turned the corner and were a little more competitive. But yet 2 years later they are worse than they were and now they claim fans should have patience. Were is their patience firing coach after coach.

Renny was the most complete coach they had since Mact. I think most peoples complaint back then was he was Mac 2.0 but he had Kreuger on his staff and essentially when mact was looking for an associate coach for him last year he ended up losing a strength (pp/pk specialist) and downgraded on a new coach.

Fire Dallas Eakins today.
Krueger in post Olympics.
If not Krueger then fine, anyone else.
We need to win some games and find some dignity before next season...
Wait no longer please.

Eakins constant bullying of yak is getting out of hand. If is an arrogant, hypocritical failure of a coach who was a Toronto media hype job to begin with. The faster we rid ourselves of this fast talking charlatan, the better for all involved.

Eakins is a horrible coach has been since first game of the season and benching Yak while being ahead , and its been downhill since then. And next season will be another lost one because Management is to proud to admit they hired the worst guy possible.
