@aaronward_nhl: Source, Steven Stamkos has broken tibia. Told will require surgery. #TSN

I'm no doctor and i don't play one on hockey forums
But that cant be good huge loss for the game, he seemed so crushed too.
Hopefully he recovers quickly,

Could be bad news for Team Canada too.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the Olympics. I just hate to see a talent like that go down, just like I hated seeing Crosby go down.

That's the real reason the Oilers don't backcheck.

Stamkos reaching for Salo's hand when he's getting treatment. (From ******).

Pretty cool picture imo.

The Flames announcers are trying to pronounce "Couture" and it's not going well.

Smid luckily escaped that period without a minus.

San Jose is outshooting Calgary 28-6 after two periods.

Maybe Ladi took the Oilers suck with him.

Yup they are being terribly outshot but they are still battling.

They just battled back to tie it.

The Oilers would have allowed 5 goals on that many shots, as many of them would be prime scoring chances from the slot.

The Flames are clearly a sub .500 team but despite not having the Oilers 'talent' the Flames play a very good system and have no quit in them.

Unlike the Oilers they are a well coached team.

I had to laugh when Baertschi tried to toe drag around two guys, lost the puck, and was booed by the crowd. Maybe Rexall should start doing that.

I can't believe that Saturday is the first game in the Battle of Alberta this season.

Seems much too long into the season and I can't remember the last time the Flames didn't encounter the Oilers in October at the very least...

If the Flames spank the Oilers on Saturday, I will start doing what i have not done since their cup run and start cheering for them.

Not long enough.

It'll probably be a typical BOA game. Flames will outwork the Oilers, take an early 3-0 lead, and then hold off the Oilers when they wake up in the third. 5-2 Flames.

Can't rule out an Oilers win even though I understand you gentlemen are down in the dumps, but honestly everyone on the Flames board just want a high tempo, well-played, 100%-effort game seeing as our team doesn't beat out many, if any, in the skill department.

...Aside from the whole "crushing your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women" thing, I guess.

Looking forward to Saturday!!

The amount of boos would rival the vuvuzelas of that World Cup in South Africa.
