You'd have to imagine Laviolette will be in the mix. He's a good coach who should be able to get more out of that roster. It's got a good mix of physical forwards and D-man who have offense.

Paul Maurice hired by Jets to replace Noel.

Glad to see Noel gone. He's always annoyed me. Sucks we can't get Maurice now though

If you've paid attention to the Flames in the last few years you know they'll go on a late run and absolutely tank their tanking.

Maurice has 4 winning seasons and 4 playoff appearances 13 seasons where he coached the majority of games. He's been fired twice in mid-season. The only thing more surprising than him getting yet another head coaching job is that people are actually disappointed that we can't hire him. He's basically the Craig MacTavish of the Eastern Conference in terms of results.

Why would Maurice or any other competant guy want to come to the oilers as an associate coach to Eakins and have to work with tweddle dee and tweedle dumb and know that Lowe and MacT are your bosses? No smart guy with a brain would do it.

The Ducks are absolutely crushing the Canucks. Makes me wonder how the same didn't happen to us.

Penner and Cogliano, being around for some of the suck, asked them to go easy on us.

I didn't really mean the coaches. My comment was directed to the higher echelons of management. I should have clarified that. My bad.

Vancouver getting crushed by the Ducks. I wonder if the management is going to get aggressive and make some moves to help that team. Seems like they are starting to nosedive.

Perry Pearn was brought in by Noel and he suuuuuuuuuucks. I'm glad that Chevy showed him the door.

I'm guessing that they only try against playoff teams.

Wait, you can fire assistants who suck at their job? That's new...

The Ducks are 20-0-2 at home.

Just absurd.

Gee, Canucks getting treated like a punching bag by their new divisional opponents. Who saw that coming? Oh yeah, everyone. Poor Vancouver, no more Northwest Division to go 23-1 against and mask the fact that they were barely an above average team.

What a dream.

Walk to the arena in plus 20 weather every game, and get treated to a win almost every single time.

It's like the Oilers are playing in an alternate universe, definitely not in the NHL. Can't even begin to fathom what it would be like to have a winning team in a great city with a great environment all around.
