Given the fine to Rolston earlier this year, Hartley's fine makes a ton of sense. He started a goon with 2 faceoffs all year at centre, and that guy proceeded to drop his gloves before the puck even hit the ice. It's clear what he was doing.

Tortorella's suspension is spot-on, from this Canuck fan's point of view, as well.

Secondly I see a lot of posters here bashing Torts and Hartley, yet if you were offered a straight up trade to send Eakins for either of those coaches you would do it in a heartbeat. Those guys are stanley cup winners and Eakins is arguably the worst coach in the league

And last you joke about about how "at least they made a flames game entertaining" well every time I watch the Flames games they are entertaining because they actually compete when they play and even when the Canucks are struggling the games are entertaining because they are sticking up for themselves and fighting a lot. The Oilers games are boring to watch, they don't compete and they don't stick up for themselves, at least if your loosing make the games worth watching

The Flames and the Canucks are both teams that chop wood and carry water
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We get it. The Oilers suck.

Thanks for showing up and making sure we were all aware of it.

The Leafs have won 5 in a row for the first time in 7 years.

Holy **** has it really been that long?

Crazy. I'd see how long it's been for the Oil if I gave enough of a damn

Haven't been able to watch much hockey lately but noticed Columbus is putting together a nice run with 6 in a row. Would be nice to see them make the playoffs

The Oil won 5 in a row last year right before the trade deadline.

Kinda surprising that Detroit is sitting out of the playoffs. I know they aren't what they once were, but they should be doing better in the East.

Kinda funny to see two usual powerhouses like the Blues and Kings, that normally use the Oilers like toilet paper, getting worked tonight.

Kings losing 5-2 to Columbus with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd, and the Blues getting just trashed by the Devils to the tune of 7-1.

I guess when they look unbeatable against the Oilers, they don't play like that every night. Every now and then they do stink up the place like regular people.

St.Louis has stunk it up in Edmonton occasionally. Hitch blew a gasket the last time they did, and they've played a very safe game against Edmonton ever since.

That was two games ago against STL I believe were they didn't play worth a **** in the first and then came back to beat us pretty bad.

The book is out on how to play Edmonton. Trap and get in their faces. Play physical and intimidate.

We're probably the easiest team to play against in NHL history.

Yeah I was hoping they'd let them go.

Man does the Saddledome ever seem quiet tonight. Is Rexall that quiet lately?

It's a morgue except for 10 or so games a year.

Columbus is actually a powerhouse now that they have Nathan Horton. 8 wins, 1 loss.

The Bruins had a big difference in their win/loss columns as well with/without Horton iirc.

I'm sure that there are some advanced stats that can confirm that he adds absolutely no impact whatsoever but to the unaided eye he seems to be some huge catalyst for winning games.

The Blue Jackets are going to win 8 in a row. I might actually pull for that team should they make the playoffs.

Almost a season after the J-Bo trade: Cundari is traded for an ahl lifer and Berra rocking a solid .894 sv%

Meanwhile J-Bo is playing the best hockey of his life (playing with Petro) and on TC

Their reach of a 1st better work out or this trade could be horrendous

That and the Iginla trade probably killed Feaster.

Also it's nice to see the Leafs getting torched after that nice "6 in a row" montage.

Iggys return was even more horrible, but atleast he is on the slow decline.

Im thankful Burke didnt have these guys when he came in or he might have actually got some decent value in return

Color me impressed with Dallas tho. Starting to really like them.

Jamie Benn is sick and Seguin and Nischuskin are great building blocks. If Oleskiak can emerge as a #2-3D they will be a good team

Toronto on the other hand looks horrible. Phanuef looks like a pylon, and JVR/Kessel/Kadri look worse defensively than Yakupov and Gagner somehow

Leafs got destroyed.

Loved how their twitter even said "Win Streak Ends With a Thud"

Leiweke, Carlyle, Nonis, and the media have a mess there for sure.
