people say it LOOKS LIKE he doesnt care because of how bad he's been

So-so period but overall, lots of positives moving forward. New system is slowly taking hold: they're skating better, passing better (that one breakout was sick) and they're more responsible defensively both from a positional and hockey sense perspective.

The PP will come along and the week off is going to do wonders for this team.

They've played a solid 30 min out of 40 but I expect a strong 3rd period showing. Giroux pots his first of the season to put it out of reach.

Simple solution. Don't force him onto the first line.

Yeah, admittedly at the time of posting that I forgot about the injuries. Still, my point is that it's something us the fans have been saying to do since the season started because it made the most sense and, what do you know, as soon as injuries hit they're called up and they help.

Alright boys, I'm late to the party. I see we're winning but how are we looking?

It'll be interesting to see the first few games after this week long break. If the offense seems corrected at all then I'll have hope for this season. If they still look piss poor then I'm going to be at a loss a bit.

Simmonds should not be the guy waiting for a pass in the neutral zone. He shouldn't be touching the puck unless he's fighting for it behind the opposing net or taking one timers from five feet out. He needs to go watch tape of Knuble and LeClair in their primes to see what he needs to do. He has more than enough talent to be that type of player. I also don't buy that he isn't trying; he's just terrible at skating with the puck, passing, and receiving long passes.

Same as it ever was. Mason keeping us alive, the call-ups playing fantastically (they're the only reason for both our goals), the D playing adequately enough to win, but the offensive zone play is piss poor (very few continuous cycles, little in the way of maintained offensive zone pressure, etc.) and the PP is dead still.

PP looks bad
McGinn, Raffl, Schenn, Mason all look pretty good
Voracek, Giroux, and Schenn have been making great passes

Luke Schenn with just 8:43 of ice time, even with the penalty that seems a bit low to me.

And he needs to realize he doesn't have the hands of datsyuk, so stop trying to deke guys out 24/7

Even though the team is struggling scoring, the play away from the puck is must improved under Chief. Couple posts today, but team looks better. Mason is a stud again too, **** bounce, other than that so quick on missed shots.

Agree with Winston. Simmonds needs to play that meat and potatoes game instead of trying to finesse his way offensively. Let his linemates control the puck. Drive the net and bang with his linemates in the corner.

I realize the play is improved away from the puck and understand the concept of baby steps but fact of the matter is we're lucky to be winning by the virtue of a call-up and our starting goalie and we're not going to win the vast majority of games with this kind of play. That's why I'm hoping things can revitalize after the break.

McGinn looks fantastic on top line as well, exactly type of player they need. And what the **** is Rosehill dressed for as he doesn't even fight ?

The difference in breakout is night and day. They look more calm in the defensive zone rotating the man coverage. No more confusion and cluster****s we had under Lavy. I'm glad he's gone. They didn't even work on the powerplay in preseason or camp. He deserved to be fired.

Also, I didn't see it mentioned yet, but Gustafsson looks like a real NHL player. Looks calm and confident even under pressure. If he keeps this up, he can definitely take some of the weight off of Timonen.

Lazy would exactly the way I would describe that drive to the net he let Hansen get earlier and that might be the nice way of describing it.
