Does EDM want Bryzgalov?

After watching tonight's game what is the risk in signing Bryzgalov? Does EDM have the cap space to take a $1-2m gamble?

Honestly I'd give it a try.

Even at his worst he'd be better than Dubnyk has been.

I'd rather look to Buffalo and see if Miller can be had for a reasonable price.

Thats My question, why make a trade When Bryzgalov Can be had dirt cheap. If it doesn't work then look at making a trade.

He wont pay there. He has stated numerous time that he doesn't want to play somewhere cold.

He's an overrated goalie. Ducks and Yotes did a great job of protecting that net and making him look better.

Edmonton needs a real goalie. We could be in trouble.

Because you saw one YouTube clip where he was making fun of our weather? I suppose that holds more weight than his agent talking about Edmonton as a possible destination after Bryz hadn't received an offer.

At this point, he's worth a try and would come highly motivated.

Edmonton needs to trade for a starter. They do not need to add another project goalie.

I don't think Bryzgalov is in the position to be picky.

Are you allowed to use shooter tutor's in this league? I think we'd have a better chance with that than anything we have now

He's on a tryout in the ECHL.. Don't think that matters right now.

If he cared about money he would be in the KHL.

I know he is playing in the echl but from his past comments I really doubt he would play in Edmonton even if they wanted hime there.

I see no reason why not at this point

Worst case he doesn't work out and Oilers cut ties with him

Ottawa-Edmonton

To Edmonton:

Lehner
Cowen

To Ottawa:

Yakupov
Dubnyk

Edmonton needs goalies and a defensmen... Ottawa has a potential top flight goalie and a solid d-man in Cowen... not that either of these players are expendable but for Yak it could be.

Bryz was good in the Western Conference. I'm still surprised nobody took a chance on him, despite how bad he may have played in Philly. He really is a very low risk, high reward gamble right now. Anyone needing a starter or solid backup should offer up a 1 year at a low salary. He's probably willing to prove he belongs at this point.

Low risk, minimal reward is more like it. He is the worst goalie I've ever seen in Philly...let that sink in. At least Leighton ****ing tried.

Plus, he had every right to be picky at that point given how he'd played in Phoenix...however, now, not so much.

Good point...he did show a lack of effort. However, he might have been humbled at this point. He used to be the neighbor of the Dr. my wife works for and I've met him and hung out with him, albeit when he was living in Giguere's shadow. At that time, he was a very humble guy willing to work as hard as needed to get a starting job. I feel like he let everything go to his head with his success in Phoenix and it changed him. Maybe now, since he's hit rock bottom, so to speak, it might actually light a fire under him.
