Yeah, sort of like how B.C. lays claim to Rod Brind'Amour - who grew up in Campbell River - even though Brind'Amour was born in Ottawa. Incidentally, Brind'Amour identifies himself as being from Campbell River.

Yzerman moved to the Ottawa area when he was like 5 years old I think. When he won his first cup I believe he brought it back home to Nepean, Ontario for his two days with it
