Well , I will be honest with you , I didnt watch any Rangers game this year . But I heard that Lunqvist sucked , not sure about that because the guy always have slow starts . Anyways , if Lunqvist is still the guy he was (With or Without new pads) I want him in Pittsburgh !

If Fleury sucks this post-season and you guys dont sign him . Watch out for Shero , this guy can do everything .
+ the cap is going up this year .

hmm... I don't know if he can bounce back after 4 bad games... I'll trade him for a 2nd round pick or is that too much?

I can't wait to bump all these foolish Lundqvist threads later in the year. I've stickied quite a few of them already.

Yea saying "bouncing back " doesn't make any sense. It's only been a few games.

However, there is a 0% chance he's on the rangers next year. Doesn't make sense for player or team. So he should be available at the deadline.

Still so unlikely, but I think were getting to the point where we can at least start to entertain the idea. It would have to be to the west you would think, with the new format definitely out of division at least. The only teams that would pay the price that the Rangers would be calling for would be a team that is confident that they would be able to retain him past this season alone. My #1 would probably be St. Louis, they have the player and prospect depth to make it happen, and are a competitive enough team to entice him to stay. I suppose Chicago might spin the wheels, or possibly Anaheim. I could also see Tampa Bay making a really aggressive pitch, and the Rangers may be more willing to deal within conference out of division with the new format.

But St. Louis would make the most sense IMO. Could give them one of their goalies whether they would prefer Halak or Allen. Add in a good young player like Schwartz/Berglund/Tarasenko could serve as a pretty good foundation of a deal to be supplemented with whatever futures are seen as necessary, have to remember this is a "rental" deal as is, so you wouldn't be able to command all heaven and earth. But you should be able to get a good couple young pieces to build forward with.

Wait. What? That's a ridiculous comment to make.

Lets hear what you got..

Are you even a Rangers fan?

What is he worth at this point? What the hell does that even mean? Because of a few bad games and the entire team having an awful start... all of the sudden his value has dropped?

He will demand a kings ransom, no pun intended. He has been the most consistent goalie in the NHL for the last 8 years. 1st round pick + 2nd round pick + 2 bluechip prospects + top 6 winger. UFA or not, he will not be cheap.

This is typical Rangers fan over reaction. No Rangers fan sans maybe 4 or 5 would trade Lundqvist for Drouin and likewise I doubt Tampa trades him.

Lundqvist said he's letting his agent do all the negotiating since the season started

Apparently MONEY isn't the problem, YEARS is. Rangers wanna give him 5 or 6 because they're unsure about paying a 40 year old netminer $9M, but Lundqvist prefers 8 years. He loves NY and NY loves him. He will not leave. I say just give him 7 years and between $56 and $63M and call it a day
