Smyth played well tonight. He plays a simple game, some of our kids could learn from that even if he lacks foot speed.

If Smyth's net-front hands are gone, what kind of player do we have left right now?

Ideal use of Hall on both of his goals. The clean-up crew crashing the net both times. The less time the puck on his stick the better. He's faster without it anyways.

The ES-goals that went in our team today were

a) bad bounce that found its way right to NYI

b) Tavares getting by Gordon to get open.

I thought Dubnyk played well enough to get us a W today.

SV% 0.925 today

Every opponent we've faced has had their fans say something similar.

It's kind of sad when teams that beat us have more faith in our team than we do.

I hate to say this but I think the Toronto media overhyped Eakins way too much
I bet we would be .500 with Kreuger

Most people around here are probably still raging and drinking their sorrows again. The last thing they want is fans of other teams coming in to offer them condolences.

Misery loves company and all that.

Yes, that's because all people talk about with regards to Yakupov: how he's such a sniper and has such a great shot. Still waiting for him to make a difference...

Our defensive systems played terrible enough for the Islanders to score 8 goals tonight. Dubnyk was great, and the rest of the team plays like garbage. Christ.

Dubnyk was pretty good.
Nuge was against tavares ALOT. Tavares is one of the top 5 players in the game.

Dubnyk made saves from 40 feet out and bad angles...bra-******-vo

seriously ive never seen teams so confdnt just shootig unscreened shotsfrom terrible anges and well beyond the hashes. pathetic. 6 foot infinity goalie

I had the choice of either heading home from school in order to watch this game, or staying late in order to paint little squares on a colour chart.

I chose the colour chart, and from what I've been reading in the GDT and this one, I really missed out on nothing of note, aside perhaps from the whole Hall scoring 2 goals in 8 seconds thing.

Still seeing a lot of hate (some of it warranted) towards Yakupov; at the start of this season, I never would have thought that he would take on the mantle of favoured whipping boy.

But that's what people were saying with Dubynk.

If we had a goalie we would be .500.

Maybe with a better goalie and Krueger we would be 8-0-0?

Or maybe there's something bigger here.

Yakupov wasn't that bad, Hall needs to get in front of the freaking goalie to screen him on the PP when Yak is taking that shot.

RNH played poorly but I don't think he's in game shape having missed all of training camp. Our PP sucks with RNH playing this badly though.

It could very well be a sophomore slump year for Yakupov.

Amen. If only we traded him for a top 4 Dman and a decent goalie. We'd probably be have a winning record right now. But yeah, I'm just SO glad we kept him... Dammit. MacT, what were you thinking?

This is where MacT's "I'm an impatient guy" quote really becomes prevalent. Can he honestly just watch his team become basically eliminated in October?
