Florida Panthers fire sale seems likely

Quote:
Three weeks into the season — and less than a month since Vincent Viola and Douglas Cifu took over the franchise — sources say the Panthers are prepared to move any of their veteran players.
Quote:
Forwards Tomas Fleischmann, Kris Versteeg, Scottie Upshall, Shawn Matthias, Brad Boyes and Marcel Goc are among those available along with Tom Gilbert and Dmitry Kulikov, just to name a few.
Quote:
The only thing GM Dale Tallon doesn’t want to do is trade any of the club’s good young prospects. That means young players Jonathan Huberdeau, Jacob Markstrom, Erik Gudbranson and Aleksander Barkov won’t be going anywhere.
Quote:
The issue for Tallon is they don’t have a lot of players other teams covent, but somebody may make a pitch for goalie Thomas at the deadline.
Damn Kulikov would look amazing with Oilers.

I could see Campbell, Kopecky, Fleischmann, and Versteeg getting serious consideration by many teams at the deadline.

Dallas needs him more. What would Florida want?

What about Campbell ? What would the Habs have to give to get him ?

How is Kulikov not a "good young prospect"?

Yeah, we definitely need more offensive defensemen who are iffy in their own end.

I'd love to have Flash/Steeger and Goc

Why the **** would Florida move Kulikov?

Can definitely see some teams in need of a shutdown centerman being all over Goc.

Can't see too many other veteran players getting a ton of interest, at least not until the deadline when a team is going to be pushing for the cup and needs some depth.

I seriously hope we aren't trading Kulikov. But if we did, he would cost a lot for other teams.

Poor start to the season and new owner, I wouldn't be shocked if there would be some movement sooner or later. I hope its just not trading for a 3rd or 4th liner like always.

He hasn't developed as expected. He's a solid 2nd pairing guy, but I doubt he'll ever be a top pairing guy at this point. He's mostly solid but he's prone to at least a couple huge brainfarts per game. I don't know why, that's just the way he is. He also misses the net a lot. With more finetuning, he could settle in as a good 2nd pairing guy, but he's not a building block.

I'd love to see the Avs offer our first and Elliott or Wilson for Campbell at some point. He's exactly the veteran LH first pairing PP QB we need both now, and moving forward to mentor EJ, Barrie and Hejda.

I could see interest in Flash and Versteeg. I think people are writing them off too quickly as trade bait.

I wouldn't write them off at all if it wasn't for the cap situation of about 75% of the league since the cap decreased this season.

Not offering Elliott, just because we have Barrie doesn't mean Elliott is available. He's been great in the AHL.

I'd offer up our 1st, Sgarbossa, Mitchell, Wilson and a goalie prospect to get a player like Campbell or Ehrhoff.

Attempt to trade/waive: Gomez, Gilbert, Weaver, Jovanovski, Versteeg, Whitney, Upshall and Winchester.

Recall/give meaningful playing time to: Bjugstad, Robak, Trochek, Petrovic and Howden.

Eat the losses, Viola.

If that got it done I'd be all over it. But I'd move Elliott to if that's what it took.

We're 9 games into the year.

And since when has Bruce Garrioch been right?

That said, the Oilers would be all-in on a Kulikov or Campbell deal.

2.5 years with a 7.1 cap is scary.

Would love to add Goc to the Sens lineup. Campbell as well, but his $7 million contract is too much for us.

Since so many Oilers fans would like Kulikov, what would you offer? And don't come with this quantity and UFA crap.

And since we have defense-problems I don't see why we would move Kulikov.

Avs can afford it as long as Staz and O'Reilly don't try to get more than Duchene and Downie doesn't demand Landy money. That deal would then expire right as MacK's next contract kicks in.

Shawn Matthias would be a good fit in Montreal considering all of our depth just disappeared. We desperately need someone capable of winning FOs and playing good, defensive hockey on our 3rd/4th lines. What's the asking price like?
