I think we need a bit of both in the same player.
Didn't have any major gaffes positionally from what I saw. He knows where to go in all 3 zones. Even if he was caught out a bit, you couldn't really notice because he'd close the gaps almost immediately with his blistering speed. This kid has all the tools you could possibly ask for in a third line player besides maybe fighting. Now if only he could work on that shot accuracy...

He's an NHL'er as long as he doesn't have the puck, just like pre-season. Good forecheck, physical, good wheels, not a liability out there.

Pitlick IMO was the difference, when that line started to hit and forecheck the rest of the team settled down.

Hemsky got everyone going, shoulda just gone straight for the shot on the empty netter though.

RNH is making mistakes but he is rusty and still a kid, the beauty feeds show he's the future of the team.

Yakupov ... baby steps I guess. He needs to work on carrying the puck and his 1-on-1 moves IMO.

Eberle solid again, has been the team's best forward overall for the season.

Jones ... hopefully that goal gets him going. We need some offensive production from the bottom six.

I bet all the people that said "**** this team" and "I'm not gonna watch anymore" in the 1st period are feeling pretty stupid now.

Agree I would roll until hall gets back;

Eberle - RNH - Yak
Perron - Arco - Hemsky
Gagner - Gordon - Pitlick
Gadzic - Acton - Eager

Once Hall and Joensuu come back

Hall - RNH - Eberle
Perron - Arco - Hemsky
Gagner - Gordon - Yakupov
Pitlick - Acton - Joensuu
Gazdic

Eager/Jones to OKC

actually looks pretty damn good upfront!!

I liked that they not only tried to prove Eller wrong on the scoreboard, but make him feel it too.

If I didn't know any better I'd think Hemsky was the best player we have.

Eakins should play the interview with Kelly Hrudey to the entire team where he just tore them apart about not playing properly. If Eller's comments got them going, Hrudey's would probably do the trick.

Arcobello is Mark Lamb between Kurri and Tikanen or Brendan Morrison between Naslund and Bertuzzi, I repeat.

He's got very good hockey sense both defensively and offensively. Very savvy for an inexperienced player. May sounds ludicrous, but I wish Taylor Hall watches how Arcobello uses his speed, eludes hits, defends and dispossesses the puck from opponents. If Hall learns to play that way, he is a complete player.

There was one play late in the 3rd where Arcobello was chasing the puck in the o zone neck and neck with the MTL D. Had Arcobello got there first, he's going get hit hard, but he let up and let the MTL D get to the puck first, then he moved in and bodied the MTL D along the boards just as the MTL D tried to pick up the puck. And Arcobello came out clean with the puck like how Lidstrom did his thing.

Another 2 points night, no incredible high end offensive skill and he probably won't do great things. However, he just got enough skill and a lot of smarts to do the small and simple things great.

I'm just laughing at the beating Eller's taking on twitter right now. Maybe he'll learn to shut up

Can someone provide a link or tell us what Eller said for those of us that missed it?

Agree on all points except, thought RNH mistakes are pretty minor for a kid his age ad his back check and good defensive stick bails out more mistakes from his teammates then he has himself.

Also think Yak needs to work on positioning a lot still don't know what it is about him but it seems like he is always reaching for the puck instead of skating onto it.

Arcobello also finishes all his hits - whether he knocks the guy hard or not.

Leads our forward in hits this season
