Question on Nilson

Not always trustworthy crapfactory and supposed newspaper states that Patrik Nilson will go to the US to play while he is suspended in europe (and other parts of the world obeying IIHF rules..). How do you think the Svenska Ishockeyförbundet will respond to this and do you think it is right of him to go over to the US?

I'm not at all sure how SIF will react... but I'm pretty sure they aren't too happy about it.

If I was in Nilson's shoes I would definitely do the same. Two years without hockey would damage and perhaps even end his career, and if there is a market where he can still make money... it's an obvious choice IMO.

A bit off topic:
Just out of curiousity did you think WADA did the right decision by letting Öhlund play in the Olympics even though he had a not allowed substance in his systems, due to eye medicine? I however don't since a professional athlete should have complete control on what kind of substances one gets and what is not allowed and so.

I did not approve. But in the end it somehow feels like there is a difference between using an eye medicin and using steroids. So I don't think a long suspension had been in order. A much worse example of how the drug "business" in the IOC/WADA works is that Javier Sotomayor, the world record holder in high jump, got his cocain-abuse suspension cut from 2 years to 3 months just in time to be able to compete in the Sydney olympics. Kinda sad, I can't watch the olympics really anymore, all you do is to sit and wonder if the athlete who is winning is a cheater.
I wonder how many "clean" guys there are in the NHL if they did regular real tests, not too many I'd guess.

According to an article in Aftonbladet yesterday it looks like Nilson will be playing for Floridas minor league team in either AHL or some other league.
