Laraque thinks he can help the Habs

Quote:
Georges Laraque estime qu'il serait un choix logique pour venir prêter main-forte au Canadien de Montréal en l'absence des robustes attaquants George Parros et Brandon Prust, tous deux blessés.

He's really good at keeping himself relevant, somehow.

I was hoping this 'story' wouldn't end up being a thread, but his schtick works. People take notice, unfortunately.

Makes perfect sense. He doesn't even need to actually dress for games, just get him a portable fax machine and he can work from home...

Laraque's getting old.

He's a marginal scribble in our history but he keeps reappearing like a particularly virile strain of herpes.

This has to be a joke though, no way it's not.

He's quite an easy target and the title of the article sells him to the wolves, but if you do read it, he mentions that it will never happen because of things ended, and too many people would complain about it. He says: "Sure, I think I could help, who would refuse the offer! Especially now that I'm healthy, but it'll never happen." I felt the same way (double facepalm) when I read the title, but this is journalist crap on a slow news day.

It's not surprising for former athletes to overestimate their own abilities. It's dumb and embarrassing for 98.5 to make a story and a headline out of it.
