I started playing a couple of days ago and reached that Luminose (sp?) city where people have encountered a saving bug. I refuse to play any more until they release the patch, don't want to lose my work.

As long as you don't save in the streets you'll be fine, so go into any of the buildings or leave the city and save.

Had a bit of time before school this morning so I started horde training my Scizor. WOW, horde training is so much faster than super training. And I finally got to put my Pokerus Vivillon to good use; gave Scizor Pokerus and now every horde battle is worth 10 EVs. I don't have access to the power items yet so this will have to do. But still, only 25 horde battles (26 really) to max out a stat, not bad.

EDIT: And that's using wild Scraggy hordes. I could go use wild Zangoose hordes and get... 18 EVs per horde, I think. I should find Weepinbells... they give 20 per horde with Pokerus.

Don't the best Super Training games give you 12 each?

Yeah, best ones give you 12 ea, but they are NOT affected by Pokerus or Power items, so Horde training is the superior method if you have either of those things.

On the point from thread 3 (damn, we're gonna catch the GTA thread) someone said shinies aren't as cool when they're easy to find. I'd say this really only applies to water types. Last night I found a poliwhirl, basculin, and dragalge all shiny. Making my total 5. I've never gotten shinies legally that quick. But I don't really count the water types. My Charizard and Magnezone I AM proud of though. I've been trying to fish chain to get a dragonair with no luck so far. So I'd say there are even fishing chain mons you can be proud of.

Question about IVs for a newb in breeding. Is it necessary to have 6 perfect ones? Like for a Jolteon or something, wouldn't you only really need perfect IVs in speed and special attack? Or is it preferred just to have all 6 perfect?
