Wow that's a lot to give up for a guy who is going to Minnesota next year.

Agreed. That's a whole lot to give up for the Isles, especially the pick, and a lot of salary too. I do think Vanek will look amazing with Tavares, however, but the deal will be brutal if they can't re-sign Vanek before the summer.

All aboard the Islanders bandwagon!
It's nice to see a team that was always at the bottom have some success
I wish that could happen to us

Comes down to perspective.

Moulson's numbers are soft and when you look at the % of his numbers when Tavares was on the ice-- it will be interesting to see how big of a dip he will have---on the flip side, Vanek's numbers for his career are based upon his own talent--Islanders win the deal--That first round pick could be around 20 to 25 overall

With Nabokov in net? Not likely.

My guess Nabokov and a pick to Anaheim for Hiller at the deadline.

Yea, that Petry guys not bad.. Justin Schultz is pretty good too. Doesn't mean we/they don't need another one.

Fasth and Anderson take over, and they get something for soon to be UFA. It'll be either Fasth or Hiller to New York IMO.

I'd trade ether of hem for Hamonic straight up, the kid is good. They also have Reinhart and Pulock coming up pretty jealous.

I wouldn't do the Miller thing. He doesn't want to be here, so we would basically be flushing assets down the toilet for a pending UFA who wont sign here in a season that looks like a write-off.

Did miller state that recently or was that way back when he signed his contract?

Not that we are much better off, but opinions can change over time.

He might waive his no trade to come here simply because he hates the situation in Buffalo, but there would be almost no chance he would re-sign here.

Oh god yes please. As long as Miller signs for a decent amount for a few more years.

I think Ehrhoff the underrated part of that... I think he changes complexion of team... I mean seriously Petry can play "his" game... no longer has to be PMD... let him use size skating to take care of things... let Ehrhoff outlet the puck

Has trickledown effect on roster... Smid gets pushed down... gets to watch out for Schultzy... making both better I think... less minutes over all and can focus on their strengths

Last Ference Belov is balanced... physical intelligent mostly reliable... Ference will serve us best with less minutes... less to expose his weakness in defense coverage

And behind them a real NHL goalie... would be so nice
