If Torts goes with Richardson and he fails, you'd complain "why does Torts go with a guy that was 0/1??"

I have no problem with 2nd guessing or criticizing, but do your homework. Like it or not, Edler is the Canucks 3rd best career shootout skater, and their 2nd (Burr) was injured.
Good post.

Put Kesler in for Sedin in the SO and I've got no problem with it.

Uh oh hope they give new ones out each game so the Higgins staph infection doesn't get tossed around.

Edler might be decent career wise but he hasn't scored since all the goalies mapped down the one move he tries. And from my point of view he hasn't been close to either.

I'd be happy with almost anyone else getting a shot at it before Edler. Hell, I was happy Dank got in tonight and that sure didn't look pretty (I don't know why he doesn't just shoot it, the last attempt before this I remember, he lasered it off the post).

Can't believe Booth is injured again. I would like to see the Canucks do what Montreal and New York tried to do with Redden and Gomez. Send him home and not allow him to play for anyone for fear of injury. Then buy him out in the summer. The guy is done as a Canuck as far as I'm concerned.

Leave the young kids right where they are. They are logging high minutes in key roles.

You don't think some combo of Staios, Robertsson, McAllister, Ciccone and Strudwick saw the ice as line in 97-98 under Mike Keenan? I seem to remember a couple Adrian Aucoin shifts at forward too. Maybe some Jamie Huscroft?

I sincerely hope so.

It would be nice to have an actual prospect in the lineup for a while. I don't think he's a worse choice than any of the other Utica forwards.

I think Torts is getting used to who he thinks will be best in the shootout. The same thing happened with AV. He'll narrow it down.

I think it's safe to assume Santorelli will be in the next few shootout and we've got Burrows back who should be a no-brainer. Add in one more solid guy for shootouts and that's a pretty good 3 man group.

Then we would be sitting here criticizing those choices.

Like I said now that he seen daniel i doubt he gets another shot.

Honestly i just dont see why your complaining, we have no locks or go to guys for shootouts. Especially given our injury plagued line up, and keslers attempt was bad last time. Little options to choose from.

Look, I'm a fair enough guy that if either Sedin or Edler attempted any other move than their usual and missed, we're not having this discussion. But when I can call their shot and their miss, you're not going to convince me that giving someone else a shot isn't at least a good option.

I don't care about their career stats in the shootout, neither of them have shown much of anything in the past few years that would convince me that they would give the Canucks a better chance to win than, say, Richardson.

I'd prefer Richardson shooting in the shootout over the majority of players on our team.

Daniel Sedin is horrendous at shootouts. I know Henrik had that slick move in one attempt in the last season, but they just don't get it. I can see that Tortz was maybe trying to boost Dan's confidence even more after scoring back-to-back goals, but he's not very good at them AND he was facing a goalie that can read our team inside out. The Sedins need to go in with speed and stickhandle quickly. Just embarrassing watching dan's attempt.

Santorelli and Richardson should be shooting quite a bit. I don't mind Higgins either.

Emergency call-up is one of the few chances the Canucks have to bring up a junior player (and it doesn't count against their contract year). I figure if they're going to do it, they should bring up Gaunce or Horvat and Grenier and give one of them a taste of NHL action. It's a great opportunity imo.

Do not rush Burrows back, under any circumstance. Let him heal he is a key player.
