Awards:
Warroad selects C Christian Ruuttu

Christian should slot nicely into my #3 center spot here. He brings a lot of elements to the game including being a primary PKer on one of the leagues best PKs at the time, and with enough of an offensive resume as to be able to hold his own in that regard as well.

Team scoring finishes of:
3, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, T5, 9 in seasons he spent the entire time with one team.

432 points in 621 NHL regular season games
13 points in 42 NHL playoff games
9 points in 11 Canada Cup games
282 points in 251 SM-Liiga games
38 points in 32 SEL games
71 points in 42 NLB games
34 points in 60 World Championships games

I was absolutely shocked to see Vanek fall to the AAA. Then I realized he didn't.

With our Day 11 pick the Knights are proud to start off our checking line with Right Winger Martin Lapointe.

Lapointe will bring grit and toughness to our checking line.

A player who started in 1995-2004 and is still active, can fill both of those era requirements... correct?

Yes, that's how we've done it in the past.

I just usually do a last name search. Seems to work better that way.

Yep, I'll go to the first page of a draft thread and do a "ctrl-f" and look for the last name that way any more. It's probably the most reliable way to do it.

Agreed. A bunch of first names have been misspelled and the source that I use to select My players, doesn't usually use nicknames all that often.

Dawson City are proud to select with their Day 11 pick:

C Josef Malecek

http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=77921

The best Czechoslovak forward of the mid-war period, this dynamic, intelligent centre scored over 1000 goals in his 30-year career, spent mostly with HC Lev Praha and LTC Praha.

Was inducted into IIHF Hall of Fame in 2003, and if there was more available about him he would be probably be inducted into the HHOF.

Malecek averaged a little over a goal-per-game in his international career, and though history has mostly forgotten him, was a legend in his own time in his own country.

Josef Malecek will provide me with a PP quarterback AND a very solid 2nd line center who could hop onto my top line.
