I think Selanne's 2010-11 season is kind of underrated around here. I think it's one of his top 5 best seasons.

I would only put 92-93, 96-97, 97-98 and 98-99 above it myself. The fact that Selanne put up 80 points in 73 games and was 8th overall in points at the age of 40 is unbelievable. He was battling groin injuries at the start of the season too. Plus he had over the hill line mates in Saku Koivu and Jason Blake that didn't help much either. Plus he was awesome in the playoffs too with 6 goals in 6 games. Too bad Anaheim didn't make it to the second round that year. Selanne's usually been great against Vancouver and he might just have scored plenty against them too...

Selanne's two consecutive 40+ goal years after lockout were better. At-least the 06-07 season he was clearly more important to his team. Leading the Duck's in points and playing 1st line minutes.

But I agree that 10-11 season gets a bit underrated. Great feat from 40 year old player. One of the best oldie season ever.

I would actually rate it above 2005-06 and 2006-07. Remember, this is the year where he scored 4 game-tying goals against playoff competitors Calgary and Dallas in the final two minutes of regulation to help Anaheim steal some much-needed points at the end of the season - and then he had a monster first-round against Nashville. And his passing seemed to be on level that it hadn't been since the 1990s (31 even-strength assists in 73 games). It was definitely over-shadowed by RWs Corey Perry and Martin St. Louis having probably two of the three best seasons.

Roughly...
1998
1999
1997
1993
1996
2011
2007
2006
2000
1995
