Gunnar better than Schultz though? Not a chance. Schultz has 10+ years as a solid #4 d-man playing second best opposition and coming out ahead. Gunnarson is a bottom-pairing d-man who's shown periods of solid 2nd pairing play and periods of god awful AHL-calibre play.
In what world is Dubnyk even close to being on Reimer's level? Also, you lost all credibility when you said Gunnar was a bottom pairing d-man. He would be a top-pairing d-man on the Oilers.

Wow, the oilers must really suck if the 2010 Leaf team is better than them.

Btw, Reimer is the 1st star again against Crosby and Pittsburgh. What a shock for a Dubnik-like goaltender?

Reimer's numbers, one game after you post this crap:

2.56 GAA, .933 SV%

See what a small sample size does to stats?

Perhaps you should see the comment about sample sizes

And what will be your response when I talk about Reimer in the 2013 playoffs. Or are you gonna keep praising the leafs as if they are an elite team and saying Dubnik would be just as good behind them.

Dubnyk with the shutout tonight. Apparently the Leafs need to add to get his services.

Just coming in and saying i told you so. reimer is an amazing goalie, and will become something great. I've loved him right from his first start, and his epic run that almost led to the leafs making the playoffs.

I am a habs fan.

Leafs made the playoffs last year and I don't even want to be reminded of game 7 where the team had one of the most epic collapse in history.

Better to have made the playoffs and lose a heartbreaker, than not making the playoffs at all.

True but not in that fashion. Atleast the team will learn how to never take the foot off the pedal when you have the lead.

SICK so Reimer >>> Crosby right?
Dubi has had a slow start but he's playing better now and in the off season both goalies were valued the same. Reimer will be back to his old self soon enough, just wait for it

And Reimer isn't even close to making team Canada's lineup since a short sample size of games doesn't show the complete value of a goaltender. Dubnyk and Reimer were equivalent this summer and 4/5 good games for Reimer doesn't prove he's a better goaltender than Dubnyk who's had a few bad games.

Plenty more than 4 or 5 games that Reimer's been better, and Dubnyk has had more than a few bad games. He's had a few games.

Ok, first off, reading comprehension. If what you took from my post was Reimer>Crosby then I guess I can't help you with that problem. Although Reimer's record against the pens is 4-0-2. I'm just providing facts though, I'm not interpreting anything.

Second of all, wtf does Team Canada have to do with this? You're just pulling out random comments.

Third, in no way does Reimer = Dubnik. Reimer is a playoff goaltender. He has that playoff experience, he played as a number one and got his team to the playoffs, he's younger, and he was arguably the most valuable player of a playoff team last season especially considering everyone's love of Corsi stats. Until Dubnik can do that, the argument for comparing Reimer and Dubnik is powerfully weak.

In fact, Reimer has had only one mediocre year due to a concussion in which he still didn't have a losing record. Dubnik on the other hand has never had a winning record.

I'd be just as happy to see Edmonton suck again this year instead of doing this trade. Please keep losing and close this thread.

I feel bad for Oiler fans. Every proposal includes yakupov and all of them they get shafted by the other team. Serious underrating of Yakupov.

Trade is awful for the oilers.

Don't worry, brah, I've never claimed the Leafs to be elite. But the Oilers have been dreadful, and much worse when Dubnyk wasn't keeping us afloat for the past few years. I ask again, why would we give anything of value for a goalie who just lost his job as a starter?

Richard Bachman was the first star against the powerhouse Kings last night. Problem solved from within, no need for Reimer.

See what I did there? It was one game, so it doesn't really mean anything.

Awful, and horrible proposal. Leafs get worse. and have no need for a winger, let alone a malcontent who is not willing to work hard, play d, listen to the coach and do what it takes to win. Unless the Leafs flipped Yak, and I doubt the suitors are long, there is no way the Leafs even consider this.

Dubnyk is great for Oilers. He will lead them to another top 10 pick. While Reimer will lead us at least to play offs. So no trade from each side seems fair enough.

Reimer won't lead you anywhere from the bench.

I don't think he owned Pittsburgh on Saturday from the bench
