Change Yakupov with RNH and it's fair value but the Habs wont move PK, he's just controling the game out there
PK has really been impressing me this year, he is so mobile and scary in the offensive zone, and he's pretty good at skating himself out of trouble in the defensive zone; but you can tell he is still young and takes some risks at times that you could tell most coaches would prefer he didn't.
I think the value isn't off by that much, we could definitely talk about a different D man instead of Schultz or even adding Klefbom in.
Subban is a great player and he is going to continue to get better. The only thing that scares me about him is that he is an RFA at the end of this year, last season he sat out waiting for a contract and then he finally gave in and accepted the bridge deal.
He then won the Norris and he will definitely be in the running for it again this year.
He also has arb rights as an RFA this off season and after Bergevin played hardball last contract negotiations PK isn't going to give them a break and sign a sweetheart deal. Him and his agent know they hold all the cards now and my guess is PK is going to want to be the highest paid D-man in the league.
This one will probably get everyone up in arms but…
Nail Yakupov + 2014 1st + Nick Schultz + Martin Marincin
PK Subban + Fucale
Oilers could add another prospect or pick depending on what the habs were interested in.
Never from Habs perspective. They have Eller, Galchenyuk, Pacioretty, Gallagher as 4 of their top 6 going forward. PK, Tinordi, Beaulieu as 3 of their top 6 D men, and Price and Fucale as their Goalies going forward. They will never make that trade.
And even then its a terrible trade for the Habs from a team needs standpoint. Without Subban there is a good chance that we would suck as bad as the Oilers. Acquiring Subban is merely a pipedream for Oiler fans.
