Ducks tried when they wanted to/needed to. You can tell how much better they are. They didn't need to try.

It's sad that the Sabres' best top-to-bottom effort may have been in a 6-3 loss.

Their defensive zone coverage is putrid.

Did all 6 Anaheim goals go high, glove side?

Yep, all six were glove high.

The Good:

3 Goals for!

The bad:

6 goals against!

The Ugly:

Scratching Grigerenko so we could use Foligno/McCormick as centers. Lindy may have had players in his dog house, but recent scratches of Zadarov/Grigerenko following solid efforts seem to scream "Well, we lost again, scratch a rookie"

When the goalie's not only short but spending significant time on his knees, it'll pay to go top shelf. Getting a goalie back for Miller is sounding better every day

Rolston on Kaleta: "we'd love to have him remain in our organization."

Yeah, sure you would. Nothing says that more than exposing a player to waivers.

Rolston is as bad a post-game interview as he is a coach.

Reporter asks, "what are your thoughts on Patty Kaleta?"

Rolston's reply: "What do you mean what are my thoughts? As far as what?"

What the **** do you think, Ron?

Good: The tanking continues...
Bad: Rolston and Regeir are overseeing the rebuild
Ugly: Both goalies have the same weakness...high glove side.

the season is looking longer and longer. the more I watch, the more I think they need a new coach desperately.

I absolutely didn't mind that answer. I would want to hear exactly what the question is, in what context and what exactly is being asked. No assuming to know what exactly is being asked. I liked what he did there. Make the reporters ask a full detailed clear question.

Almost Everything was bad. So Grigs gets better sitting in a press box watching the **** then playing 15-16 mins a night on a young team and try to get better ya know, actually playing? RR is in over his head and the fact that DR didn't interview anyone else and Pegula actually was quoted saying with the way RR finished the season as interim that it would have been "nuts" to have not given him the job

It is not the win total that I care about right now. It's the effort on the ice, the fundamentals and the little things that this team fails to grasp, to go along with RRs general ineptitude and lack of solid decision making. He has done nothing to improve the play of several of our young players, which is something that he is supposedly a "guru" in. Grigs, Myers, Ennis and Foligno have regressed mightily under RR and its getting worse. I am happy to get 0 points but atleast show an honest effort and make the games somewhat entertaining/also improve the play of the youngsters. This team which is having a historical season in franchise history in terms of poorest starts prize is either Sam Reinhart or Aaron Ekblad. I pray that whatever one of the two we get turn out to be franchise savior HoF types, a la a Gilbert Perreault.

Also the good: Matt Moulson, 2 more assists. 2 goals and 2 assists in 3 games so far. Has a 3.1 cap hit and just turned 30. In the top 10 for goals scored over the last 4 seasons. Anyone think he doesn't bring back a 1st round pick at the minimum? I do gotta give Darcy credit, the Vanek trade return is going to come out to one of two ways, MM is dealt for a 1st at the least and possibly another pick and the return turns out to be 2 1sts and a 2nd (+?) for impending UFA to be Thomas Vanek, or the team re-signs Matt Moulson as its "Vanek lite" goal scoring replacement and also banks 2 very high picks doing it, as The NYI 1st this year will not be any worse off then MINs 16th overall pick last year. The Isles are nowhere near as good as last years Wild and can easily miss the playoffs all together.

I don't think he had a say in it to be honest. In fact I'm starting to think some of the personnel decisions are not his to make.

On the same hand, based on his scratching Kaleta after Pat's suspension for the Richards hit last year, I wouldn't be surprised if Ron isn't losing any sleep over it.

G:
-3 goals!! Hodgson with 2 points and Myers with his 1st were nice touches.
-The almost-a-comeback in the 3rd to make the game exciting again a little bit

B:
-6 goals against. I believe 2 GA were scored in the same shift against Hodgson's line. Moulson/Hodgson/Ennis is a combo that's pretty much begging for that to happen though.

U:
-2nd period

That may have not been his call either.
