Edmonton - Columbus

Jordan Eberle
Ladislav Smid
Ryan Jones

Fedor Tyutin
Brandon Dubinsky
R.J. Umberger (50% salary)

Columbus gets an all star winger and a downgrade at D, Edmonton upgrades on defence and grit. If CBJ fans don't think it's enough, a good prospect can be added.

Hall-RNH-Hemsky
Dubinsky-Gagner-Yakupov
Perron-Gordon-Umberger
Smyth-Arcobello-Eager/Gazdic

Tyutin-Petry
Ference-J.Schultz
Belov-Larsen

Gaborik-Anisimov-Eberle
Foligno-Johansen-Horton
Letestu-Atkinson-Jones
Craig-Chaput-Boll

Smid-Prout
Johnson-Savard
Murray-Wisniewski

Dubinsky means way too much for columbus.

To Columbus:
Eberle
Joensuu

To Edm:
Tyutin
Anisimov

he's been injured all season and there hasn't been much released about his time frame to return, so I doubt he's tradeable right now

We are looking for gritty wingers like Dubinsky and Umberger. If you take out Dubinsky then we are going to have to start looking at options to acquire Horton.

agreed but the jackets are stacked (for the future) up the middle and need wingers and he is the only other expendable winger i think the jackets could take

Over payment on Edmonton's part. There is no reason Edmonton would want Anisimov.

The original proposal included a center who I thought to be non-expendable on columbus' part so i added one that I though could be expendable in the right trade

Edmonton would need to get rid of a contract. N.Schultz can be had but his salary is quite a bit higher.

Horton hasnt even put on a jackets sweater yet, hes untouchable unless the offer is way too good, but i see what you mean in the grit area. What do you think about mackenzie

I don't think you're horribly far off and I'd love someone, anyone, to take on Umberger's contract, but Dubinsky unfortunately isn't going anywhere. He's the future captain. Anisimov would be more likely.

Haven't seen much of Mackenzie but I doubt he can make up the difference. It comes down to if Columbus thinks the gap between Eberle and Dubinsky is Umberger + the gap between Smid and Tyutin.

Like I said before I would think maybe a prospect like Gernat could be had as well.

The problem is the Oilers don't have a fit for Anisimov. What about Foligno?

Eberle
N.Schultz
Jones

Tyutin
Umberger (50%)
Foligno

Swap Smid for N. Schultz due to the downgrade from Dubinsky to Foligno.

I'm assuming you think Yakupov is a big downgrade on Eberle, but it's the opposite if anything. Yakupov is going to cost more than Eberle.

In terms of salary yes, but only in LA LA land does Yakupov have more valuable to the Jackets then Eberle.

Keep it simple.

Tyutin, Foligno

for

Eberle

You guys want to get rid of Umberger's contract. Take 50% of it and we will throw in someone like N.Schultz, Jones, etc to even out the salary to make it work.

From Columbus, no, just no.

Dubinsky is only available for an offer that can't be refused. A massive overpayment.

Tyutin is a top pairing defender and would only be available for a big, fast, top line winger.

These teams don't make good partners.

Eberle is a very valuable player and the Jackets could really use someone like him.

That said I'd be hesitant to take the team away from its identity in one fell swoop. The identity the Jackets are cultivating is one of being gritty and hard to play against. Guys like Dubinsky, Umberger, and Foligno are a major part of that identity.

I know it takes something good to get something good. I'd just be hesitant to make the OP's offer.

How about something small like Nikitin for N.Schultz or Potter and a 4th.
