We Need a New Goal Song.

I looked back a couple pages and couldn't find a thread on this but our goal song....although how rare it is played, sucks.

We need a new goal song, what should we use?

Heres a petition to change it to Whoomp there it is...

Whoomp there it is? What in the balls?

Anyhow, I don't think the goal song is the problem right now. Also, the fact of the matter is that you'll never find a goal song people won't complain about. Music is such a subjective thing, especially for celebrating goals for a major sports franchise, that there will always be dissenters. The other fact of the matter is that Light 'Em Up is just as good as any other goal song right now. It's popular, catchy, well known, and it actually makes sense in the context of scoring a goal.

how long do they commit to a part of a song?

~1:39-2:29 of

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ71CQiDBpY <------ that would be epic.

I don't know how to edit to start at that time...

doop is better than whoomp there it is, and doop sucked. that fall out boy song is terrible. TNT was better, but not by much. they should just make it that orange and the black song they play when they win.

Fall Out Boy is a significant upgrade from woefully dreadful to mediocre from what it was on opening night. For what it is, it's acceptable, especially since you barely hear it with all the cheering going on.

Whoop There It Is? This isn't 1993.

Fall Out Boy sucks, unless you're a 15 year old girl.

Orange and The Black is the only decent song.

Was it not TNT by AC[lightning bolt]DC for the first goal scored at home?

I was a bit let down myself when I heard TNT.

Doop was a ripoff of the union...to me it was like if we were using the Eagles Fight Song....FLY FLYERS FLY.... come on.

I preferred Bro Hymn.

My vote is for some uptempo hiphop....Roots or Wutang!

People complained about Doop, people complained about TNT, and people complain about Light 'Em Up.

I like how the best reasoning anyone can muster is "...well, it's Fall Out Boy" despite the reasoning me and GKJ have already brought forth.

Led Zep - Immigrant song

As an aside, I used to like the warmup songs from the late 90s. Now they play too much rap and crap.

I do wonder whether the players are bothered by the music during TV timeouts and such. Like they must have heard 'Jump Around' 100 times by the end of a season. I guess they just tune it out.

As a Whaler fan who jumped on the Flyers when they bailed I really can't put into words how amazing that would be. Funny thing is the Whalers actually scrapped it because (at least according to our GM-for-5-minutes-til-he-bailed Brian Burke) the players hated it and the opposing players mocked it. Yet the Whalers played "YMCA" at the end of games, so mockery obviously wasn't the issue.

I miss Bro Hymn, though I have to concede it was kind of lame that we ripped off the Mighty Ducks. Fallout Boy is OK I guess, I get why people hate it, I just don't care enough about Fallout Boy or most current pop music to bother hating it. Honestly I didn't even realize it was them the first few times I heard it.

Anything is better than DOOP. I've never liked anything that sounds like that. But music is subjective and there's no way they'll make everyone happy.

What else do you need? Fall out Boy is garbage. It's a band for 15 year old girls and dudes who wear girl pants. I hated them when I was 16 and I still hate them 10 years later.

EDIT: Jus sayin, I hated TNT as well, mainly because I don't like AC/DC. Can't we just settle with the Orange and Black song? It's fun (I guess, not my type of music, I'm not a pirate/reside in Boston) and it's unique to our team. What more could a fan base ask for?
