He is a 6'8" forward with a 6'8" wingspan and poor athleticism. I think he is a guy you bring off the bench for some offense for about 20 mpg, nothing more. His ceiling is Jason Kapono/Kyle Korver. It would be a travesty if the Sixers used their second lottery pick on him.

One thing we know about Hinkie is that he likes high character players that have good athleticism, wingspan, and size for their position (MCW, Noel). Saric and McDermott don't fit all of those attributes.

Outside of the first 3-5 picks this draft is really overrated, and after about pick 10, it is quite ordinary.
Saric is intriguing. I wouldn't lump him into the same category as McDermott. Saric can handle the ball and make plays. He's long and pretty athletic. Needs to improve his shooting touch, but he has a lot more upside than McDermott.

Yeah I definitely agree Saric has much more upside than McD.

Not really a surprise but Granger might get waived:

It's being speculated that the sixers will most likely attempt to trade Thad and the Pelicans pick to move up in the draft, on draft night.

Andrew Wiggins and Julius Randle are the 2 guys I want.

They'd likely need to move up to 4 or 5 to get Randle I think.

Randle could possibly fall out of the top 5. We're really gonna get a good idea on the rankings after March Madness.

Wiggins is definitely number 1 on my list too. Potential to be an elite 2-way player.

Our luck, after trying to get Wiggins what happens is

A. Wiggins is taking first overall to another team.
B. Wiggins falls to us but we take someone different.
C. We somehow start winning games.

Well C. seems impossible and I doubt the 76ers do it, but if this were the Flyers this is what i'd expect haha

I don't follow college sports, But how big of a difference is there between taking Parker and taking Wiggins?

Parker might be more NBA ready, but Wiggins' upside is massive. Has great defensive potential- something Parker doesn't have. Basically Parker is what he is now. There isn't much left to his game. Wiggins is just scratching the surface IMO.

Speaking on his daily morning radio show, ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg said that when you look for potential landing spots for Miami Heat star LeBron James, Philadelphia has to be on the list.

"The Sixers are the best situation to be in," Greenberg said. "You can sell to LeBron (James) and Carmelo (Anthony), come here together. It's an attractive place."
Read much more @: http://www.nj.com/sixers/index.ssf/2...s_sixers.html#

It's important not to get your hopes up. The article is mostly just an overview of the great situation Sam Hinkie has created for the Sixers and the options they have moving forward. The young talent they have currently + two 2014 lottery picks + the most cap space in the league. In theory the Sixers will have enough room this summer to bring in LBJ and Melo, but who knows what those two player's plans are... And who knows what Hinkie's plans are? Maybe he will go after these guys, if that fails, the backup plan is great too: keep building through the draft.

Imagine this though:

MCW
Wiggins
LBJ
Melo
Noel

I'm glad I don't watch ESPN anymore. All they're going to talk about is James' future.

I've tried to avoid it as much as possible. I've managed to not watch it once during the entire Olympics. The future is looking good for the Sixers, which is something we haven't been able to say. Admittedly I don't follow the NBA very much anymore because of the poor seasons and not being in that 4 team group of being able to win a Championship. I am getting excited about the future now.

If Hinkie's rebuild plan works out and somebody like LeBron comes to the Sixers I probably will be watching Sixers games over Flyers games more often.

I hope Snider is taking notes...

This draft is becoming more and more like Durant Oden draft. The top 2 picks are going to get stars and then after that its a coin flip. The 2 kansas kids are studs. Hopefully we can get one of those picks. Our next 2 games are against orlando and milwaukee the worst and 3rd worst teams in the league. If we are serious about this tank we have to lose these games.

Two extremely important games for the tank. My only concern is they are both home... we'll see.

I think the Magic are finally healthy for the most part, should be a loss. Bucks have played alright against the sixers both times they've played.

Sixers have had a little longer rest too. Some time to get the new guys acclimated. Everybody wants to make a good first impression. I see the Sixers overachieving. You also have the law of averages. They're bound to win one of these upcoming games.

If you can get to 4, Wiggins and Exum are the two guys you should target.

I have a bad feeling the league will rig the draft because they are against tanking and then the Sixers end up with the 4th pick.

Yeah. No shot the league lets us win the lottery.

Maybe they understand that Philly is an enormous market and having a successful team there would help the NBA as a whole, but I am not going to hold my breath. I would be happy as long as we are in the top 3. Fingers crossed
