Couple reasons they won't win it:

-They don't want to promote tanking. If the Sixers win, you're basically telling teams to stop trying to win which would create further disparity within the league.
-I think the big market works against them. A team like Milwaukee who has been rumored to possibly be moving to Seattle or KC could possibly be saved by a franchise player (ironic considering Seattle left the year after they drafted Durant).
-Philly may be a big city, but I think the league would much rather have said player playing in Boston or LA.

As much as I would like to believe the lottery is an honest system, I just can't.

It does not seem like the Rod Thorn (pres) is against it.

Probably the biggest reason we don't win the lottery is because it is actually hard to. Even the leagues worst team still only has a 25% chance of winning it.

Best case: Sixers win the lottery and NO's pick ends up being 6th. We take Wiggins at 1. We take Randle at 6. Joel Emblid or Parker stays back for an extra year and school, then we win the lottery in 2015.

Worst Case: Pelicans get #1 overall pick. Sixers get 4+.

Most likely case:

1. Lakers
2. Celtics
3. (team that is not the Sixers)

Do people really believe that the lottery is rigged?

Serious question, I don't know much about the system.

There's a 0% chance the lottery is rigged. The combination system they use is just too intricate. Whatever happens on May 20th will happen because of sheer probability.

Here's an article on the process and where every tin foil hat theory is debunked: http://switchthemotto.wordpress.com/...is-not-rigged/

Heck, Cleveland winning it three times the past eleven years should be enough proof that it isn't rigged.

no chance it's rigged... each team has a representative to the entire process before/during and while the selections are being made.

It stopped being rigged after the Patrick Ewing draft. Which is really one of the shadiest things to ever go down. After that the only one that i could see being shady was Lebron going to Cleveland because that is just too good of a story.

If N.O. gets the first and we get the 4th i might shoot myself. That is a scary thought.

I pray that we can package N.0. Pick with an asset to move up and get randle.

If we come out of this draft with Wiggins, Emblid, Randle ANy combo of that 3 we could be a playoff team in 2 years.

Also If N.O. pick is around 11, and marcus smart drops that would be one hell of a steal. A backcourt of Smart and MCW would be a very good thing. Might be the 3rd best backcourt in the east behind wizards and cleveland.

I'm not sure Smart and MCW can play together all the time, but if he were to hypothetically become a James Harden type off the bench, that's good value.

I don't think it's rigged either but this would hardly stop that.

So Granger doesn't want to play for the team and is demanding a buyout? Tell him to screw off and we'll either keep you on the bench or you can leave for $0. How can a player demand to be paid to leave?

Is there any chance the Sixers get Parker and Wiggins?

Also, who would you guys rather have?

He can't leave for zero dollars. Contracts are guarenteed. Makes no sense to leave him on the bench when he can sign with another team and help them. It is the professional thing to do to cut ties with him. All he was in this trade was a contract in order for the trade to be made, his days of being an as set are over.

Gotcha. I don't follow either NBA or NCAA basketball. Just have heard the hype of this draft.

It doesn't really seem unrealistic that the Pelicans pick gives us two top 8 picks. They are only 2 1/2 games up on the Knicks for 8th worst in the league. It would be nice if they keep slipping up until #6 lol.

Can you not suspend him without pay then?

It makes sense for both Granger and the Sixers for him to stick it out. He could get bought out and sign with a contender to be a role player or he could stick it out with the Sixers play big minutes for a bad team and showcase himself for FA next year while retaining his bird rights and giving the Sixers the opportunity for a sign and trade in the offseason.

Sixers have 15 wins. Over under at the beginning of the season was 16.5. Do they have two more wins in them? This team is BAD. 36 Games are left.

1-36 would probably be the worst 37 game stretch a team in the nba has ever had. If we want to win the lottery we need to make history.

I believe!

Tomorrow could be a win. Orlando on the backend of a back-to-back.

So the only way we don't get the pelicans pick is if it ends up being the #1 pick, due to them winning the lottery, correct?
