Game #14 - 11.03.13 - at Ottawa - 12 PM - FSSW - 1310 The Ticket

Who? Stars (5-6-2, 12 points) @ Senators (4-6-3, 11 points)

Where? Something apparently called the Canadian Tire Centre.

When? Noon. It's in the title, pay attention.

What? I don't know.

Why? Now we're really getting into the tough questions.

TEAM REPORT

This is the section where Lobo tells you valuable information such as the Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999 and are coached by Lindy Ruff.

LINE-UPS

I could post the lines from the Practice Updates thread, but are we really sure about those? What if the Senators are searching these very boards to try to get the upper hand? Oh my God, I've told them where to look!

SERIES OUTLOOK

This is a fun section. I would actually be interested in knowing what the all-time record is against Ottawa. Unfortunately I'm the one making the thread and I don't know. This is a major problem. I can tell you that the record against Ottawa so far this season is Undefined.

TEAM STATISTICS

Alright, I'm going to actually bring some info here. Ottawa has a -4 goal differential. Dallas has a -6 goal differential. Those are real numbers that correspond to events that have happened.

What else... Oh yeah, Ottawa's powerplay is ranked 17th in the league with a 18.9% success rate. Their PK is 7th (not too shabby, Ottawa!) at 85.2%. Both are obviously better than Dallas because Dallas is terrible.

Scoring leaders are Seguin for us and Karlsson for them. Could we move Seguin to defense? Worth a try I say.

HISTORY OUTLOOK

I don't really understand this section. If you care about previous games on this exact date there's something wrong with you. Go read the History thread and leave the GDTing to the living.

HIGHLIGHTS

Here we go. Lobo doesn't even put the highlights from the most recent meeting between the 2 teams here, come on!

Look at that, I can definitively say I did a better job at this part.

And now, the one thing worth keeping:

CHIASSON BE WITH YOU

"This should be a great game between two great teams", said nobody.

Ottawa is probably better than their record suggests.

Anybody else think Whitney only stays in the top six because of his chemistry with Chiasson? I love the guy, but he's been underwhelming (like much of the team) so far.

Lack of a better option could be the case. Ruff seems to like Nuke at RW. He's played there more than LW this season. Horcoff sure isn't a better option. I don't think Roussel belongs in the Top 6 either. He's doing just fine where he's at. If Ruff wasn't married to Nuke at RW though .....

Benn-Seguin-Chiasson
Nuke-Eakin-Peverley
Whitney-Fiddler-Roussel
Garbutt-Horcoff-Cole

Whitney's been playing a little bit better recently IMO.

Wow, just realized this game is in direct competition with the Cowboys. Thanks NHL.

That's honestly how I would try it for a game. I liked Nuke on the LW, he seemed to be more likely to make better plays than just try to skate down the wing and try his one move.

Why the **** does the NHL think it's a good idea to have the Stars playing at the exact time as the Cowboys? #Idiots

I'm cool with it, but I fall asleep when I try to watch football. It's like baseball level of boredom for me personally.

What? 11 to 12 minutes of actual action in 3.5 hours is boring?!?! Your cray ....

I still watch every Boys game, but my interest in that past 3 years has taken a major hit. I use to love following draft, minicamps, etc. ... all that nutty stuff. I barely even pay attention to training camp and pre-season now. Pretty much strictly games. I'll watch the Cowboys live mainly because my friends are more likely to call and screw up the Cowboy score than they are the Stars.

I'd prefer the Stars first though.

I'm not really a Cowboys fan, but I watch every game. As long as Team Trill does good in fantasy I'm happy. It's Idiocracy for the NHL to have the Stars playing at the exact same time.

Haha. Yea I guess I just have a short attention span so if it's not constant action I lose interest. The only time I'll even make an attempt to watch football is if I'm with friends on Thanksgiving or the Super Bowl.

I remember my gf turned on the Super Bowl one year because she thought I'd wanna watch it, but it was just us, so when she left the room I turned it to Animal Planet for their Puppy Bowl. I waited for a few minutes once she came back in the room to see when she'd notice and needless to say she now has a favorite program to watch during the Super Bowl.

Listening to Ali struggle through simple copy reading makes me cringe. Her cadence is horrible. It's so awkward.

Um... NHL.com's picture for this matchup is Jordie Benn vs. Karlsson. Is this what we've come to?

I can't believe how weak Whitney's shot is this season.

I will say this, it's good to have a Norris candidate locked in at 700k over the next 3 years.

I just assumed the Boys played tonight or were on a bye week or something, it's gonna be embarrassing to watch.
