Source, Steven Stamkos has broken tibia. Told will require surgery. #TSN

Gut wrenching. Stamkos is the type to get right up after getting run over by 250 lbs so for him to be like this... reminds too much of Markov near the boards.

Yeah, but not when your leg is tense from effort and bending back because of a blow.

It looked like the leg bent below the knee, not at the knee. Reminded me of Theisman.

Hope he completely recovers. I love his game.

Weird how so many injuries/controversial plays happen when the Bruins play.

whats interresting is he crashed into his OWN net and not the opposing teams, wonder if ever back checks again

Reminded me of Sid Vicious' injury. Wonder is Stamkos suffered a puncture wound as well.

I broke my tibia too as a teen, and was in cast for 3 months, then needed a cane for another month. The challenge here is muscle atrophy. I basically had no calf left after 3 months in a cast. I'm guessing they'll find a way to stimulate the muscles while he's in a cast.

Hate to be the Lightning right now, BUT .. possibly good news for Canada.

Nick Kypreos ‏@RealKyper 1m
Early indication is #Lightning Stamkos didn't suffer overly complicated break and Sochi Olympics isn't out of question in 2nd week of Feb.

As much as I hate Boston, there is no way I blame the Bruins on this one.

just watched the replay of the Stamkos injury. Freak injury for sure but i thought the nets were meant to come off easier on contact.

Then you don't hate the Bruins as much as you claim.

I just checked how many other potential Team Canada players will suit up against the Bruins before the Olympic break and we're ****ed.

Yakupov open to trade.

Craig Custance ‏@CraigCustance 10m
If EDM unhappy with him, Larionov said Yak open to trade: "We're willing to make a move. Any team. That happens and that's part of life."

If EDM moves him they'd better get something good. Why do I get the feeling like the Oilers are about to get ripped off?

Hopefully by us. Would love to know the cost.

I would love for Galchenyuk to be reunited with Yakupov. I have a feeling that would ignite Yakupov again.
