So Gionta skating outside the crease, trying to avoid the hit, and accidentally hitting Reimer with his butt is the same as Kadri going right through the crease, following through with the hit, leading with his elbow and falling on Backstrom?

Is this honestly being discussed on the main board?

I'm enjoying reading it but it's quite difficult to refrain from replying risking an infraction or ban.. Gionta is a well used word there.

The thread on the Leafs board is even more delusional than the one on the main board.

If Ott does the same to a Leafs goalie this weekend will the same Leaf fans defending Kadri also defend him for the play?

Edit.. So Jeff O'Neil and some other guy just on TSN said Backstrom flopped and sold the call.. WTH is in the water in TO?

Sort of shows how valuable top 4 d-men are.

He has good size, solid in his own end, not much offensively and not a big bruiser...makes 4.5 mil this year and next 2...and Edmonton was stilling to move 3 2nds for him...in an off season where nobody wanted to take on salary.

Jeff O'Neill is an idiot.. Defending Kadri and saying Backstrom made no effort to avoid Kadri. Where the hell was Backstrom suppose to go to avoid him?

What's up with the take down after fights? It's so cowardly. I hate it so much.

This would be even better if Bozak was healthy.

Only one win in their last 4 games though. Only scored 3 goals in those 4 games.

Krecji got hit from behind while losing an edge near the boards, had his face planted into the glass. Stayed on knees, looked shaken up.

I can't decide, so I'm splitting one of my monitors between St. Louis/Colorado and Phoenix/Chicago (well, NYI/LA until that comes online).

Ryan Murray sees the ice well on the defensive side of the game. Well positioned, reads the game pretty good. Hope he develops into what he could be. I like his game.

Nazem Kadri is a ******* in part due to Carlyle's persuasive ability to turn everyone he touches into a dirty little *****, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's naturally just a bit of a *****, like a wannabe Corey Perry. Orr wasn't on the ice when he decided to smash Backstrom or Granlund, he was doing his thing on the first line. Unless Fraser was on the ice, he was doing his thing without any enforcer "protecting" him from backlash.

He'll get his. NHLers LOVE making examples of pukes like him. Anytime someone has a chance to run him they'll go all out and follow through to hurt rather than pull off a little.

Leafs fans were defending this way more than the Backstrom hit, actually. Are they really that blind?
