I wonder if Al Arbour and Bill Torrey have sons with coaching hockey in their blood.

I thought they played well.

Carolina had no chances. Not enough in the o-zone though from the Islanders. Need to take some chances and throw it at the net rather than always cycle. I think they were more sloppy today than lacking in effort.

I think we need more than 5 games to judge Vanek deal. Nino had been written off in organization, whether that is right or wrong he was never going to be a player here. I still think Clutterbuck can be useful player, he needs to stay healthy and they need to use him on PK.

Tough game to watch. I'm on the conservative side when it comes to letting a coach go, but it seems like Capuano's head is really up his @ss in so many areas. He is an ECHL coach (not meant as a slight to any ECHL coaches!) who is being exposed more as the season goes on.

On the positive side (there were a couple) were Poulin who really impressed me. Let's hope he gets more playing time - but you just know he won't. ANess was ok from what I saw.

Same Crap-uano; Donovan, AMac, PMB just all brutal. Bailey looks lost or worse, suddenly invisible.

For all you Corsi # lovers that cannot apply what really occurs in a Game yet prefers these #'s

Heres some numbers you might understand….Ist line….0 hits, 2nd line 0..hits….3rd line 1 hit…..now go check what the other teams top 9 did.…….Toughness wins games not how long you have the puck on your stick doing nothing.

Capuano, is that you?
But, in all seriousness. Our goaltending and defense was solid, our offense was horrid. The team as a whole had no energy.

Involved is one thing, but when the head coach is silent, and not one player is even looking at him, something is wrong.

This absolutely infuriates me. They pass up decent looks WAY too often.

Lots not to like tonight.

Grabner was in the doghouse the last few games. Is building a new basement there after tonight's game. The guy just is not bringing it and he seems to be in the middle of more clearcut chances than just about anybody. Lack of puck possession skills and confidence is earning major headshakes.

This rebuild has gone on too long for the team to take "baby steps".

Not to just sell Grabner out, since this was pretty much a horrible game for our offense as a whole, but I agree with this so much. Grabner looks lost, uninspired and just not good. He was maybe the worst guy on the ice for us tonight. His breakaways are dreadful, he's just not bringing it.

Agreed, I was being more tongue and cheek with that statement seeing how bad we have been in both areas.

Look at the bright side, the Rags just leapfrogged us in the standings. As shocking as it may sound, I honestly wouldn't mind it if we continue losing games. At least this way Snow would be forced to finally dump Crapuano - the sooner the better. It's clear that Cappy isn't a NHL caliber coach, yet Snow continues to put up with this mediocrity.

Snow must Go!

I hate losing as much or more than anyone. With that being said, I hate all the negativity. I mean I completely understand at and I wasn't watching Hockey in the early 80's so I have never seen the cup being raised by a Islander player. The Easter epic and the 93/94 run is all I can remember as our "high" points.

I gotta agree, Snow has made a lot of the right moves. Vanek brings so much more to the table than Moulson did as well. Vanek actually wins battles along the boards and creates space for himself. Sure we lose that go to PP guy, but that's all we lose.

I dont have any of those. I was only 2 when they won their last cup....dont know what you are talking about with the Easter epic.....we should do what Bill did...build the team from scratch.
