Kronwall has this habit of backing right up to Howard.

It's what lost us the series against Chicago.

Okay, he sucks defensively.

Amazed our fan-base can try to say anything bad about this or try to discredit this play in the least, just wound back and started up the ice and I felt hopeless as he was crossing the blueline. Said it in the Datsyuk thread, but this one reminded me of prime Fedorov. A big guy gets his speed up off of good defensive work and you just feel hopeless as he is crossing into your zone. The only surprising part was he didn't get much on the shot, but hey it still went in and this thing was a beauty.

You can rail on the players out there for it, but this is still an awesome individual effort, he caught the Wings standing a little bit and made them pay in a big way. You cannot give guys like Benn time and space and let them accelerate like that or you will often pick the puck out of your net, great play. You want to make fun of this, well discredit a good portion of Fedorov's coast to coast work that we praised endlessly.

Exactly. Great post. I'm a Stars fan and I basically said the same thing over in the Datsyuk thread. Give the player cred rather than nitpicking and saying what the defense did wrong. Not sure what there is to argue about. A guy scored a nice goal on a nice individual effort. Period.

"Look at how bad that goalie is. He just fell down and the puck went right by him. Goalies were so terrible back then."
