Bring Back Alfie?

Not at the deadline but next year.

Is it possible??

You Package Anderson to get a good top six forward or top 4 D.

Next year, Karlsson is one year removed from the injury, Cowen can only be better next year, Lehner will be even more ready...

He might just be exactly what we need to be able to contend for a cup.

I mean,

I am sure Lehner will give him his house back :p

I wonder if this could happen. A kiss and make up.

Anything is possible I guess

We wouldn't have to give up anything next year. He signed a 1 year with Detroit. If both parties wanted, they would just sign.

I can see him signing for the Sens for one day on his retirement day a la Modano. That's the closest you will get to that I would think.

While we're on the subject
Could we change the subject now?
I was knocking on your ears
Don't worry you were always out

Looking towards the future
We were begging for the past
Well, we know we had the good things but those never seemed to last
Oh, please just last

Of course everyone goes crazy
Over such and such and such
We Made ourselves a pillar
We just used it as a crutch

Was it ever worth it?
Was there all that much to gain?
Well, we knew we'd missed the boat
And we'd already missed the plane

So would I......Trade Michalek at this years deadline and spend his money on Alfie and someone else like a top 4 defender.

How do these top 2 lines look

Hoffman Spezza Alfredsson
MacArthur Turris Ryan

The Spezza needs wingers thread made me think this. If Detroit is that far out of the running and we are still in the hunt maybe Detroit throws Alfie a bone and trades him back to Ottawa for a late round draft pick, can't see BM paying anymore given the break up.

No word of a lie, I was listening to that song while I read that. I've been listening to Modest Mouse all day.

He doesn't need wingers , he's still in the top 25 scoring and is on the #1 powerplay unit consisting of

Macarthur Spezza Ryan
Turris Karlsson

All of those players will put up a load of points this year just on the power play itself.

Not sure if manically depressed or just really good taste in music

If he came back he would get an A but not a C.
Its about winning a cup and Alfie would be perfect to play along Michaleks replacement and Spezza.

I'd love it.

I can see Alfredsson getting his jersey retired down the road but I think there's an off-ice schism there (Melnyk) that needs to be repaired before he actually puts skates on for the Senators.

The line would be better 5v5, and probably would be far less of a liability defensively just from being much better at holding on to the puck.
