Yeah it's definitely a tough call, Kane has the tools to be a top scorer in the league.

Tallon has been quoted saying his untouchables are Huberdeau, Bjugtsad, Barkov, Trocheck, Gudbranson, and possibly Markstrom.
I could see Kulikov being a guy who could do well under a change of scenery. I think he could become a good top 4 defender again & I certainly would roll the dice on him if I was the Flyers.

And that move was BRILLIANT ! Moose to this day is one of my all time favorites, loved that dudes tenacity, and the Dupont shuffle was the stuff of legends !

Wayne Simmonds

Tomas Fleishmann
2014 2nd round pick
Colby Robak

We get a gritty and tough Simmonds who can hit, fight and score. We need help on the RW depth chart in a big way. We get Hal Gill to balance out the limited cap space you guys have and Hal can bring leadership to our shaky young d-core.

You guys get Fleischmann who has proven offensive production and still has gas in the tank at age 29. The 2nd rounder gives you guys a chance to choose 3 players in the top 50 in this year's draft which is in Philly as you know. Colby Robak is a decent prospect developing in the AHL bringing size and grit at the young maturing age of 23.
I really like Tomas Fleishmann a lot ! Every time i watch a Panthers game he always stands out as a player i would like to see in a Flyers uniform one day.........Very solid skill set for sure !

Fleishmann is a nice player but when contracts and age are considered, he isn't anywhere near worth Simmonds and adding a 3rd pairing d prospect which flyers have plenty of and 2nd rd pick in a weak draft doesn't make up the difference. Simmonds is 4 years younger, signed for 5 1/2 years at a lower cap hit which is below market value for a 25 goal scorer, and is just entering his prime as opposed to exiting it like Fleischmann.

Oilers offered three 2nd round picks for Braydon Coburn at the Draft and couldn't close the deal. Trades in season are much harder to make.
I wonder if they are still interested in him, but with the Flyers actually playing better would they even consider trading him?? Would you for a top 3 pick?

Three seconds could be interesting but we would really need a Dman coming back.

As inconsistent as Coburn is through the average season, he can't be given up without having a replacement.

I would trade him for a top 3 pick in the draft. But knowing our luck they would go on a winning streak and we would end up with the 9th or 10th pick if the trade was made during the season

Depending on where this team is at the trade deadline and how desperate other teams will be, you could probably get a better package for him.

Thank goodness Homer turned it down. If we were to trade Coburn, as others have stated we need an NHL Dman coming back in the deal. And 3 2nds?? Seems like MacT is reading the trade board here on HF.

"As a team with questionable defense, we'd be perfectly fine trading someone who plays defense for some second round picks which have a very low likelihood of turning into anything significant. No, no one needs to come back our way. Suitable replacements have been waiting in the wings."

The best thing about the trade would be shedding salary and praying a Hagg type player falls out of the first round... 3 times.

Coburn isn't worth the #3, he's not worth 3 2nd's, however, he's the #1 dman on this team and almost irreplaceable considering his workload for the Flyers. It's a tough situation, you have Edmonton willing to overpay, but the Flyers would probably be hurt.

Not to mention he's a defenseman they have under contract. Next year, without Coburn, they'd have 3 legitimate NHL defensemen who will confidently see the ice next year.

I think you're undervaluing Coburn, big time.

Yea, I am. I'm not a fan. He shows glimpses of being a really good player, then falls off the earth for huge stretches. Problem is, he's the best out of the 6 guys on the team.

You can argue the 2nds, but a Top 3 overall pick? God no, he's not even close to that.

If it were from the trade board it would've been a 2nd and Joe ECHL Prospect who'll never see the NHL for more than a few games.

Don't forget the obligatory conditional pick going back to EDM depending on Coburn's performance.

Yeah, I meant to bold only the three 2nd's.
