What team would you play for?

If you could choose one team to play for in the NHL, which team would you choose and why? Perhaps the position you would play would factor into it. Maybe the coaching style would fit you best. Maybe you just want to live in a nice city.
Try to choose a team other than your favorite team.
figured this could work in this forum. Inb4 moved.

Islanders.

Favorite team. From Long Island and would be close to home...

Phoenix perhaps. All NHL teams pay good, even small teams such as Phoenix. Barely any pressure from the media. Nice climate.
And a pretty competetive team, so I would have a shot at the cup.

Most teams would be OK, except for Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary.

Fair points. Good choice.

Other then the obvious, Dallas. Make more money, can still go out on the town without being recognizing too often (I'm assuming)

not to mention sick jerseys and beauties like Benn and Seguin

Obviously being a leafs fan, they're my choice.

But if I couldn't then my next choices would be New York Rangers or Los Angeles. Imagine what you could do making an NHL salary living in either of those salaries? You also kind of get the best of both worlds; they're good hockey markets but because of the size of the cities, you wouldn't have to wear sunglasses and a hoodie for fear of getting mauled every time you left the house.

Being a goalie and a leafs fan I'd never go to the habs in a million years.

Idealistically, Chicago. Hawks fan, from Illinois, love the city, seems like an all-around first class organization, gorgeous look, and hard to argue with success.

Realistically, whoever paid me the most money.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see the choose a different team.... probably Minnesota. Nice town, passionate fanbase, seemingly on the up and up, and I like the idea of staying in the Midwest.

Chicago or Toronto. I like the idea of playing for an original six team.

Obviously Blues but If I had to pick one other than my team id probably pick one of the California teams, all three are pretty good and I would get to live in Cali, easy choice for me

I would play for the Leafs but immediately retire so as to win Wimbledon and Roland Garros 12 consecutive times.

leaving aside my favorite team (Colorado), the ideal team would be

-competing or soon to be competing, spending to or close to the cap with no financial/ownership issues
-minimal media coverage/hype/criticism
-no arctic weather
-lowest taxes possible and/or lower cost of living
-least travel time (less applicable with new divisions)
-no cities with population >1million

Tampa Bay seems like a clear winner here. runners up:

-San Jose would qualify except for the higher state tax and the absurd property prices
-Calgary could work since Feaster appears to be growing less incompetent by the day
-I wouldn't want to live in Pittsburgh, but everything else about the Penguins would be great, ditto St. Louis
-If Carolina and Nashville weren't a cap-floor team they'd be great as well

Obviously I'd play for the Avs, would be like a Duchene situation

Other than that, probably NYR because I love the city, is pretty much my second home, or Boston, also because I love the city and the Bruins, my East team.

Minnesota Wild because the State of Hockey has the best state high school hockey tournament in the country (and it really is as great as it sounds) and I would love to be Parise, from Minnesota, playing for the Wild and enjoying that state tournament yearly at home. Not to mention college hockey. You can enjoy hockey in Minnesota at every level and that is a rarity and what makes this state so special when it comes to hockey.

Nice city, nice climate, lot of history and great fans. And I really want to learn French!
