Dreger just said on sportscenter that Bryzgalov to the Oilers could be done as early as tomorrow he also said they may be closing in on a deal for a D man

Not really.

Were they they close to the cap? I woudln't' think Bryz would command that much right now--at least not on a 1-year deal.

Thank you, Bryzgalov deserves to be in the NHL. Hope this happens.

Good luck to him but if he was bad in Philadelphia with a Defence that wasn't that bad on paper but had a poor system and no depth then how the hell is he going to do any good for Edmonton?

I think I heard it best today, Tampa last night had 2 good scoring chances all night, and scored 3 times. Dubnyk isnt cutting it nor is barb, Yes we have defensive miscues, just like every team but goaltending has really murdered us this year

Yeah, bringing in the worst NHL goalie from the last two years (who is also completely insane) is clearly what Edmonton needs to stabilize their team.

Exactly. I could have seen a nice bounce back on a team that's not absolute trash in the defensive zone, but it will be no different than what he experienced in Philly.

If moving Smid were the precursor to signing Bryzgalov, then expect to see Bryz get overpaid fairly soon...

Bryzgalov should be looking at a league minimum, one year deal. They shouldn't have to move salary to sign him.

As an Oiler fan, this somehow makes all the sense in the world. And I mean that in a "Hey, he can't be any worse than LaBarbera" way, as well as a "Dreadfully disappointing team most dreadfully disappointing UFA signing of the last few years".
