Some stupid reffing going on today, and its early...

Well look at that, they now list as illegal check to head. Changed it 2 times.

It was an illegal check to the head. Refs are just silly.

It was a penalty, refs just couldn't figure out the right call for some reason.

Might have been a case of thinking one thing and saying another.

I dunno, if you got a warning from your supervisor at work for improper dress code but they recorded the incident as "theft", I think that would be pretty bad, no?

Penalties being called correctly/recorded correctly IMO are actually kind of a big deal. It gives somebody who doesn't watch all of the games a look into how a particular player performs in the ice in terms of physicality and personality. I'm not saying it's a huge factor but I could see for example if player A hooks a lot, but doesn't crosscheck/hold often, that maybe they're a slower skater and sometimes lose out on an odd-man rush but they don't get beaten along the boards too often.

Just my 2 cents, but record-keeping should always be accurate as possible.

I'm sure the officials agree, since they changed it on the sheet to accurately reflect what happened.
