Kerdiles isn't wasting any time in this game. He went from showing some nifty hands and passing in one end to saving a goal at the other. He's going to be very good.

Edit: Kerdiles scores!

"It's not surprising, you've only mentioned his name six times in the last thirty seconds."

Besse looks good, too.

Kerdiles just picked up the primary assist on the game tying goal. It's 3-3.

Sorenson looks like a great pick early on.

Love Kerdiles. Going to be a very good pro

Was at the Saturday Gophers vs Badgers game. Kerdiles looked very skilled and impressed me. I also really liked my first look at Besse as a collegiate player. He looked really good at both ends of the ice. I didn't expect his defensive game to snuf yet, but he was great positionally. His playmaking really stood out to me too, had some really nice passes that should have led to easy goals. He won nearly every corner battle he was in too. Didn't seem like he had that much ice time, and as a Gopher fan that was probably for the best for us haha.

Huh. I never knew they had highlights on the WHL's site.

Latest video I saw from Seattle has a small sound bite and a goal from Theo (#17 dark) towards the end.

I think Theodore and Lindholm will be better than Fowler and Fowler is scary good already and not even close to his prime yet.... Man i can't wait for the future.

What? I don't think he is better right now obviously Fowler is basically our #1 defensemen at the moment and playing awesome. I think it's a possibility given his skillset and size though he needs to work a lot in the defensive side of the puck but his skating and shot are amazing hopefully he goes into his frame.

Lindholm I can see, but Theodore really only has a chance to be better offensively. I doubt he ever matches the two-way play of Fowler. We're talking about a guy who is being used to shutdown players like Crosby. Expecting that from Theodore is more than a little unrealistic, and no one realistically expected Fowler to be capable of that either.

Probably true Fowler has improved a lot in the defense end, his offense has been disappointing but seeing the role he plays and the minutes he plays against top line I don't blame it. Theodore will probably get more favorable offensive minutes as he has a better shot and better offensive awareness it seems.

Number wise I using Theodore will be better than Fowler I also think he has better size than Fowler as well. Hopefully he learns the same way Fowler did with scotty helping him out.

Fowler's on pace to match his offensive output from his rookie season and is easily ahead of any other dman for points all the while having a big slump offensive wise in October, and he's playing tougher minutes then his rookie year.

I'll take that 'disappointment' anyday.

Fowler already has a 40 point season in the NHL. The chances Theodore hits 40 points in the NHL right now aren't even that high - still way too much development ahead of him before comparisons can be made.

And yes I know you said you can deal with it. But I find it hard that some part of a players game could be considered a dissapointment, yet it's the biggest total out of all d-men and is matching his rookie season points wise playing against tougher opposition compared to his rookie season.

Seems like a big step forward in his offensive development given his last 2 seasons of offensive output rather then a disapointment, to me anyway.

defense was the weakness of fowlers game when drafted, theodore can improve and i think his offensive ceiling is higher

Yeah. I think people throw the word "disappointment" around a little too loosely. Fowler is about to turn 22. He's our top defenseman. If anyone predicted he'd be this good, at this age, they would have been laughed at.

As far as size goes, size doesn't make you a good defender. Being a good defender makes you a good defender. Theodore has, maybe, an inch on Fowler. So does Jake Gardiner and Justin Schultz. Who would you rather lean on defensively? Size can help, but it comes down to the player.

So, because one prospect does it, any other prospect can too? You know that isn't how it works, right?

Fowler was a PPG defenseman the year leading up to his draft. He was also considered one of the top talents of his draft season. The expectations here get kind of silly. Fowler could end up being one of the top 3 talents from his draft, and it wouldn't be that big of a surprise. I think it's pretty unrealistic to think that because Fowler did it, that Theodore could. How many 21 year old top pairing defensemen do you see in the NHL?

For the record, I'm not saying Theodore won't be good. He's a talented kid. There is a lot of potential in his game. But he would exceed all realistic expectations if he played at the level of a top pairing defenseman.
