What about Bergeron?

A lot of people are saying giroux is playing his way off team Canada but Patrice Bergeron has also had poor production. I know Bergeron is amazing defensively but could he also play his way off the team from lack of offence. As I write this he scores

Due to his dominate defensive play I'd put him on for sure.

Bergeron is great on faceoffs and great defensively. He'll make it.

He isn't fully up to speed yet, but has still looked good every night. His wingers (Marchand and Eriksson) have been absolutely abysmal this year.

He got injured in the first game and he's better now than he was in 2010.

He's got off to a slow start but I'm not worried yet, he's still elite defensively and I think the offense will come around very soon. Some stability with a healthy Loui.

Would rather take Cooter, even though his face is hard to look at, Richards is prob a better option too. Plenty of defensively minded guys, the offensive talent shouldn't be diluted, otherwise you end up tied at 2 in OT with the Yanks.

Giroux will be fine too, no way you can leave that guy at home.

Bergeron is one of the hardest working, classiest, and respected players in the league, on and off the ice. He's had success at every single level. He's had so many things go against him but he's come back stronger every time. Wherever he goes, he wins.

Bergeron will be on the team 100%, he was there last time in a defensive role

Bergeron has good offensive tools, but he's not someone you want carrying a line's offensive load by himself. If his linemates aren't performing well (like now), he's not going to rack up the points, even if he's playing well.

Still, he's a highly intelligent, adaptable player. Team Canada should bring him along regardless.

They're not bringing him for his offense, even though he'll still help.

Send a message via ICQ to Hennig
I really hope he makes it. He won't be sent to Sochi for his offense, so who cares if he isn't producing as of lately?

Winning faceoffs are kinda important, too.

I think Bergeron will make it , he's a great 2way player who is also good on faceoffs . I'm sure they would like to see good numbers from him , but not as much as Giroux . Bergeron Brings a lot of things to a team not just off numbers , that's why i'll make it .

Hopefully he has a better performance than 2010. You can say all you want about how he's there for a defensive role but that doesn't mean he shouldn't produce. Toews and Richards were also a pretty strong defensively and still managed to score and create chances.
