I think this argument could be made for several of Sabres youngsters. The majority of them looks to be forced into the league way too early.
Not only that, the team seems to have confidence issues, which is nothing strange how they are forced to play.
IMO, they need some more veterans (not star players, but character players with very good leadership skills;loved the way Giguere talked last year, that is a winner you want as an example for the young players) and the coaches need to take some responsibility, benching the most dangerous line because the team has too many rushed teenagers (was it 4 or 5 dressed for the game against the Ducks?) is more than idiotic.
I love the way the team is put together, they drafted not only great forwards but have some great prospects on the D also, so I see a really great future for them if all those young player are given a chance with at least some more character role players to help the develop.
Trade Ryan Miller for a good backup and a great prospect but, pretty, please do not just make a team full of great prospects...
Why are people bringing up Sacco? When has he ever done anything remotely like this? Because he scratched JML and Chris Stewart after sucking and dogging it for weeks? Coaches need to make players magically try hard and magically good, but they better not punish them!
TIL HfBoards has no idea how coaching or accountability works.
Have ANY of you played hockey before? And not street hockey with your buddies.
So you need to play hockey to know how accountability works? Luckily it is not synchronised swimming .
If you really think the benched line was the problem of the Sabres against the Ducks then I really disagree with you. What's next? Blaming Miller for not being a "better" goaltender?
Anyway, I am not even a Sabres fan and have already overstayed my welcome, but seeing the way they are forced to play I am really sorry for the great young players (as opposed to the Oilers were so many mistakes "drafting D is for p*ssies" are made that it does not matter).
What kind of message is this sending to a new comer like Moulson who has been PPG for us since joining the team? He was playing incredibly well and helped jump start the Ennis/Cody line. What an idiot...
Matt Moulson stood facing his locker stall, his back to the rest of the dressing room following the Sabresí debacle in Anaheim. Moulson slowly took off his equipment, hesitant to turn around and look at anyone.
The Buffalo newcomer had just been benched for the final 26:11 and seemingly didnít know how to act.
ďItís the most embarrassed Iíve been in my career,Ē Moulson told The Buffalo News.
"ďIt seems like they just have lapses for a little bit, get down a little bit and then itís tough to get back in this league when you do that,Ē
Also, Rolston's an idiot, his tough love stuff worked when he was just working within the confines of an established system (Ruff's a terrible coach, but at least he had one of those), now there's no standard of what people "should" be doing.
