Who to pick with #11

I'm going to leave out the players i think or know are surely gone by our pick and write the ones i think we'd be looking at or want if i should add someone let me know
Messed up when i wrote Price he is going to be gone for sure by #9 Ottowa picking him if he isnt gone by then so i guess we can just imagine it to be Tuuka Rask

If O'Marra or Skille are there go with them other than that.

Skille for sure if he's there. We have plenty of RW depth in our prospect pool, but he's played all three forward postions in the last year.

Bourret would be may second choice and would be great as well.

Third pick would be McKardle.

I think we need to address our need for a young top 2 Center.
I would be happy to see Kopitar (if available), Hanzal, Zagrapan, O'Marra, or Skille. We've got great depth on the wings we just need to find a good center who can feed the puck to Brown, Frolov, etc.

I know I might be being picky but a Left handed shooter would be nice, most of our foward prospects are rightys.

So any way from the list I chose Hanzal 6'3 Center shoots L 189 lbs. Here's a quote on him, "Martin Hanzal impressed the heck out of scouts at the World Under 18 Tournament. He's an offensive star who does the little things around the net to score. Good hands, great foot speed and sound hockey sense make him appealing, but his desire has been questioned."

Hanzal is 6'5 Martin Hanzal, Center
Team: Ceske Budejovice (CZE), Height: 6-5, Weight: 199

Anyone but Zagrapan! C'mon, you know it sounds like an OTC treatment for cramps and bloating! Or maybe those people who aren't getting enough fiber in their diet?

"Yes, clinical studies have shown that Zagrapan supplies our bodies with over 110% of what they need to stay regular. Constipated? Get Zagrapan.....QUICK!"

Or a herpes medication.

Once daily Zagrapan has been shown in clinical trials to reduce the effects of herpes....

Rask will be the steal of this draft. Hopefully will be around when we draft. Crosby, Johnson 1-2, Price picked before Rask, don't think any teams ahead will draft Tuuka. No one in top 5, hopefully Mtl takes Price. Chicago maybe take Rask?

Stastny in the 1st round? I thought he'd be a 2nd rounder, but I'd love to grab him before Boston.

Do we really want to develop a goalie for 5-8 years just to have him become a free agent at 27?

I think in the end it comes down to Skille or Hanzal and we dont need a RW will only screw us over i mean wtf are we already supposed to do look at our current situation - Camms (Questionable), Brown, Tukonen, Kanko, Pushkarev. Ok Kanko will prob be 3rd or 4th line but Camms, Brown, Tukonen, Pushkarev all need 1st or 2nd line time to accomplish anything or be of help

#11 pick

The Kings are in need of a Skille player...especially if Alex stays home.

About a month ago I sent kj a pm something to the effect of "and with the 10th pick in the 2005 NHL Draft the Los Angeles Kings choose Marek Zagrapan...I'm sticking with that prediction of who I think they will draft...

From the TSN review:

BOB MCKENZIE'S TAKE: A top offensive player who is a smooth skater and smooth with the puck. Some question his grit and ability to play in heavy traffic. A real wild card in terms of interest, everything from a top 10 candidate to not being a first rounder.

Sorry folks BUT Zagrapan has Kings written all over him....

For what it's worth, I have family in Chicoutimi (where Marek plays in the Q) and they tell me the kids "not bad"...

link to TSN: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/draft/feature.asp?fid=6645

Of course this is all predicated on the idea that no players of significance will re-enter the draft after failing to come to terms with their drafting clubs....

Just remember, there could easily be another "Blake Wheeler" incident which could set into motion a whole series of events which sees us drafting the 7th or 8th best player at number 11. How many silly-arsed GMs will be picking before the Kings, anyway?

Agreed. I voted for Skille but was surprised that no one had put one in for Zagrapan. With the "new style of hockey" we are suppose to see in the NHL, Taylor might think it would be a good idea to draft Marek. The guy is a goal-scoring machine that could flourish in the NHL.

I would love to see Skille here but we might miss that pick by just one or two selections.
