Most clever hockey logos

Not the best. The most clever. I'll start.

You obviously see why. H for Hartford, W for Whalers and a whale tail to top it off. Not the best but definitely one of the smartest designs.

That might also be the best logo of all times. Love it. Miss the Whalers

New Jersey Devils.

I didn't even realize their logo was an 'NJ' until last season... And hockey's been my favorite sport for almost 20 years.

It took me almost a decade before I noticed the "H" in the old Whalers logo.

I hand no idea it was a NJ until this season.

I might be a bit homer with this, but the Avs logo is actually pretty clever:

There is the A which is both the A in Avalanche and represents a mountain, the puck on the avalanche, which is pretty self explanatory as being an avalanche but also finishes the A. Pretty neat if I say so myself.

That's a puck at the bottom of the avalanche? I haven't noticed that for the entirety of the Avs' existance.

I remember someone saying that San Jose's shark is supposed to have "SJ" in it but I don't see it with either the old or the new logo, seems too subtle to be intentional.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Their logo is a maple leaf! I don't know how much more accurate and blunt you can get with a logo and team name.

The "I" in "Islanders" points to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum where the Isles currently play.

Had no idea it was a bear/cat face until about 2 years ago. Always thought it was just some wildlife scenery.

Love it.

I've always thought the Wild logo was incredibly clever. It the silhouette of a bear with the wilderness as the background.

edit: beat to the punch!

I'd laugh at the people who didn't know the Devils logo was an NJ, but I honestly didn't know the Whalers logo had an H in it until now...or a bear's head as the Wild logo apparently.

isn't the path of the avalanche also shaped like a C?
