The avalanche also forms a C

Edit: Lol, beaten to it

People probably get too caught up in all the colours and details that they don't look at the shape of it lolz. Agreed though.

Think that's really pushing it. That's like saying any slight curvature forms a "C".

Unlike the H in the Whalers logo or the NJ where it's clearly defined, that's just a swoosh to unite the movement of the logo in graphic design terms... I believe that it's not intentional at all.

The swoosh is no more well-defined as a C in

as the Nike logo is a U.

I'd say that the Wild and the Whalers have had the most clever logos in the NHL.

Also, think this deserves mild recognition, even if the logo itself isn't all too impressive overall.

Not much to really look at, but the darkest gray part of the iceberg on the logo is actually a map of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

I actually thought about this logo recently; what has the wing got to do with anything? It's not like it ties into the name, the city or the game of hockey in any way.

EDIT - I just realized, the wing might refer to The Spirit of St. Louis. Still, the note and the wing are just slapped together, pretty lazy if you ask me.

Not a wing, it represents the 5 major lines of a musical staff.

So the bottom of the "wing" is an E major and the top of the "wing" is an F. It's also why the lines leading into the "wing" are so uniform and straight.

Every time this comes up I'm still amazed at how many people never look at the logos. Consider the Devils - you see that logo and don't wonder to figure out why the J has a hump in the middle of it? Okay...

Same here; when I was younger I thought the flags/ hooks were the focal point of the logo with the Crotchet being the tail.

Yeah, not too much going on here.

Not here either really.

Good thing we at least got the most beautiful home jerseys in the league.

Ohh, ****.

There's even an O in it to make it CO for Colorado. Designers don't do that accidentally.

How do you not notice the Devils logo says NJ? What do you think the thing coming out of it for the N is?

... anyway, it took me several years and someone pointing it out to me that the Wild's logo was an animal head. But there's too much going on in that anyway
