i have not seen him play for nashville but have seen him play well at times when he was in edmonchuk-i think he has the potential to be a quality backup in this league-others dont seem to share my opinion.
do you think he is just a bad goalie or has there just been a big falloff lately?
I would love to pick up Wiercioch and Rundblad for cheap. It doesn't have to be before the deadline or anything, I'm just saying (though maybe they could use Downie and Mez somehow to make it happen before they walk this summer). Those are two guys who don't seem to be in their respective team's plans going forward.
Wiercioch specifically I could see being a real asset to this team, great size and has shown he can play at this level and put up points. Rundblad has great skill, good size and is a right hand shot but is unproven. Both are good skating puck movers with good size at the age of 23, what's not to like?
Sens fans earlier in the year said Downie + 2nd for Wiercioch would be fair. I just posed the question on the main board to see how much/if any things have changed since then. I'd do that pretty easily though if it were still on the table. The way I look at it, it would be Downie a pending UFA that most definitely won't be back and Grossmann (after moving him for a pick) who has been pretty terrible recently.
Rundblad I would offer the pick we would get for Mez in a trade plus a 3rd or a bad decent prospect. That may not get it done but I'm really more interested in Wiercioch of the two anyhow.
Well if Pittsburgh is truly interested in Kesler, Rob Rossi is making sure they pay a premium with the stuff he's putting out there.
From a radio interview:
"Shero has always been a big fan of Kesler. Compared him to Kesler by better offensively.
The Penguins didn't need a whole lot of convincing (on going for kesler). They talked before the olympics and revisited it just in the past week.
(Asked what the offer was)
Brandon Sutter, Despres/Dumoulin, 1st and 3rd Pick for this year.
(Asked if Pouliot is not in the discussion)
Well I think he's going to be, I've been told today that Shero has informed the Canucks that any offer they get, basically he will best it. If that's the case they'll have to throw Pouliot in there, and I don't think they'll throw Pouliot and one of those defensemen listed before, but maybe they will... I am told Shero hasn't put his best offer on the table yet. He will save the ace for when it gets closer.
(Asked if the best offer will be Sutter, Pouliot, 1st and 3rd this year)
I think so, I don't think they'll go much more than that, unless they feel they have to. They really want this guy and see this as a hockey trade. Feel they would boost malkin and crosby. The only untouchable is Maatta."

They should go all in on Kesler. He would be the perfect fit for their team. He's already got the diving thing down.
